USA TOURS? TICK.

Our USA tours and road trips are a great way to see this sprawling country, as you can cover plenty of ground without any fuss. Whether you want to focus your attention on one state or you’re keen to discover lots of major attractions, we’ve got you covered. And if you have specific interests – like culture or wildlife, for instance – then we can advise which USA tour or itinerary is best for you.

There are different types of USA tours available. You could opt for an escorted tour, which means you’ll travel around in a small group (typically around 40 people), accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. If you’re looking for an easy, relaxing and informative trip with the opportunity to meet like-minded people, then this could be the best option for you. We have a number of itineraries available, including our fantastic coast-to-coast New York to Hollywood, which includes stops in Chicago, Niagara, Yellowstone and Las Vegas. You’ll be able to take in some of the USA's staggering scenery, as well as vibrant cities and native wildlife.

Alternatively, if you prefer travelling independently, you’ll really enjoy the freedom of a USA road trip with a USA fly-drive tour, which simply includes flights and car or motorhome rental. Our preference is a self-drive tour, where you can drive your chosen route at your own pace, staying at your pre-booked accommodation along the way. One big benefit of a self-drive USA tour is being able to stop off whenever and wherever you like – so if you see an incredible viewpoint and fancy a picnic, you can simply pull over. Whether you want to drive through California or the Deep South, our experts will help you plan your ideal USA road trip. And, since our USA tours are really flexible, you can easily add an unforgettable train journey or cruise too.

Best time to go to the USA

USA tours are often best between May and September, when you can usually expect sunshine and blue skies.

It’s warm and sunny somewhere in the USA all year round. But you’ll also catch superb snow here in winter for skiing. Spring weather’s fresh and pretty in most northern and northeast states. And autumn all over New England is colourful enough to be described as a natural phenomenon.

For dry weather and low humidity on the northeast coast, plan your USA holiday for spring or autumn. Summer is often stifling, and winter can be very cold and snowy – great for skiing in Vermont and Christmas shopping in New York, but not so pleasant for sightseeing.

The west coast is generally warm, with temperatures as high as 40°C in California during summer. And, although winters are cooler, 20°C in December isn’t unusual here. Meanwhile, the Deep South sees very hot, humid summers, so it’s best to visit in spring or autumn. For year-round sunshine, as its nickname suggests, Florida is one of the best states to go to.
