ROAD TRIP? NO TROUBLE.

Canada motorhome holidays are all about freedom and flexibility, as you journey through beautiful landscapes in a modern, well-equipped campervan. Plan your perfect route with the help of our Travel Specialists, then explore at your own pace. You can meander through stunning mountains, pull over for a picnic whenever you feel like it, pause at jaw-dropping viewpoints, and park up in some truly eye-popping campsites.

With everything you need for a comfortable road trip – including a top-notch kitchen and full bathroom – your motorhome holiday in Canada couldn’t be easier. But, where to go? You could spend some time driving around Eastern Canada, taking in the coastal villages and wild whales of the Maritime Provinces. Or make your way around Ontario, ticking off Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara Falls.

But, if you’re eager to see the famous Canadian Rockies, you’ll need to head west. Pick up your motorhome in either Calgary or Vancouver, then make tracks for some of Mother Nature’s finest work. Get ready to marvel at Banff National Park and Glacier National Park, where you’ll be able to see turquoise lakes, ancient forests and snow-dusted peaks. And you can enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities, including hiking, glacier-walking, canoeing, kayaking and bird-watching.

Or, why not combine Canada and the USA into one epic road trip? You can collect your RV in Seattle and drive through some of Washington State’s national parks, before crossing the border into Canada. Alternatively, start your holiday in Calgary and drive in a big loop through Montana, Wyoming and British Columbia. Ideal for nature-lovers, this incredible three-week itinerary is crammed with bucket-list spots, such as Yellowstone National Park and Jasper National Park.

Whatever you’re looking for, our Canada motorhome holidays have got it covered. Check out some of our most popular itineraries, or speak to our Travel Specialists to tailor-make your route.

Canada motorhome hire

Our Canada motorhome holidays include a modern RV from Cruise America, with all the first-class facilities you need for a comfortable, straightforward road trip. Whether you opt for a family-sized RV or a cosy campervan for two, your motorhome will come complete with great kitchen facilities – including a hob, fridge and microwave – and a bathroom fitted with a shower and WC. You can take your pick from a selection of motorhomes. A standard RV has plenty of space and can sleep up to five people. Larger seven-sleeper vehicles are also available, if you’d like even more room to spread out. Alternatively, if you’re travelling around Canada as a couple, you could consider a compact motorhome. Ideal for two people, this smaller campervan fits into a regular parking space – and its manageable size means it’s perfect for first-time road-trippers.

West Canada

Canada motorhome holidays are particularly popular in Alberta and British Columbia, as these two western provinces boast some of the most impressive scenery in the country. Here, you can discover dramatic mountains and glass-like lakes – and, since you’re travelling independently, you can pull over to admire the views anytime you like.
Collect your motorhome in Vancouver, then drive inland towards the lakes and vineyards of the Okanagan Valley. Continue northwest to Glacier National Park, where you can hike across age-old ice fields and marvel at snow-capped peaks. Next, once you cross into Alberta, you’ll be able to explore one of Canada’s most iconic places: Banff National Park. Go kayaking across Lake Louise, see the wolf-shaped Peyto Lake, and unwind in Banff Hot Springs.

The next leg of your journey serves up some stunning views, as you drive north towards Jasper National Park. Spend some time in Wells Gray Provincial Park and Clearwater, before returning to Vancouver to enjoy a couple of days in British Columbia’s most exciting city.

East Canada

You can also enjoy campervan holidays in Eastern Canada, where you’ll find natural wonders like Niagara Falls and the Bruce Peninsula. And you’ll be able to incorporate popular cities like Halifax, Montreal and Toronto.

Why not focus your attention on the province of Ontario? Start in cosmopolitan Toronto – where you can discover craft breweries and street art-covered lanes – before collecting your motorhome for your epic road trip. Admire the thundering waters of Niagara Falls, explore the rocky shorelines of Lake Huron and Lake Ontario, and go hiking through Algonquin National Park. And you can learn about the fascinating history of Montreal and Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
Alternatively, plan a trip to the Maritime Provinces, which includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. As you drive between campsites, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Halifax’s museums, stroll around charming coastal towns, spot lonely lighthouses, and hike through Fundy National Park. Plus, in summer, you’re likely to see wild humpback and minke whales.

Best time for your motorhome trip

Canada is often associated with snowy mountains, but you might be pleasantly surprised by how temperate the climate is. Canada motorhome holidays are best enjoyed between May and September, when you can generally look forward to warm, sunny days and bright blue skies. Toronto and Vancouver are particularly lovely in May and June, when temperatures hover in the low twenties. While the big cities become humid in the height of summer, the Rockies remain fresh with temperatures hovering around 22°C – ideal for hiking and kayaking. Just bear in mind that the roads and campsites will be busier in July and August, as this is peak holiday season in Canada.

Winter is a beautiful season in which to visit Canada, especially for snowsports enthusiasts. But, logistically, winter can be difficult time for a motorhome holiday. Mountainous roads are often hard to navigate as ice and snow set in, while most coastal cities see heavy rain. Canadian winters are very cold, too, with temperatures regularly dropping below freezing – so you might find that it’s too chilly to sleep in a motorhome.
