You can take your pick from a selection of motorhomes. A standard RV has plenty of space and can sleep up to five people. Larger seven-sleeper vehicles are also available, if you’d like even more room to spread out. Alternatively, if you’re travelling around Canada as a couple, you could consider a compact motorhome. Ideal for two people, this smaller campervan fits into a regular parking space – and its manageable size means it’s perfect for first-time road-trippers.

Canada motorhome holidays are particularly popular in Alberta and British Columbia, as these two western provinces boast some of the most impressive scenery in the country. Here, you can discover dramatic mountains and glass-like lakes – and, since you’re travelling independently, you can pull over to admire the views anytime you like.
Collect your motorhome in Vancouver, then drive inland towards the lakes and vineyards of the Okanagan Valley. Continue northwest to Glacier National Park, where you can hike across age-old ice fields and marvel at snow-capped peaks. Next, once you cross into Alberta, you’ll be able to explore one of Canada’s most iconic places: Banff National Park. Go kayaking across Lake Louise, see the wolf-shaped Peyto Lake, and unwind in Banff Hot Springs.

The next leg of your journey serves up some stunning views, as you drive north towards Jasper National Park. Spend some time in Wells Gray Provincial Park and Clearwater, before returning to Vancouver to enjoy a couple of days in British Columbia’s most exciting city.

You can also enjoy campervan holidays in Eastern Canada, where you’ll find natural wonders like Niagara Falls and the Bruce Peninsula. And you’ll be able to incorporate popular cities like Halifax, Montreal and Toronto.

Why not focus your attention on the province of Ontario? Start in cosmopolitan Toronto – where you can discover craft breweries and street art-covered lanes – before collecting your motorhome for your epic road trip. Admire the thundering waters of Niagara Falls, explore the rocky shorelines of Lake Huron and Lake Ontario, and go hiking through Algonquin National Park. And you can learn about the fascinating history of Montreal and Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
Alternatively, plan a trip to the Maritime Provinces, which includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. As you drive between campsites, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Halifax’s museums, stroll around charming coastal towns, spot lonely lighthouses, and hike through Fundy National Park. Plus, in summer, you’re likely to see wild humpback and minke whales.

Canada is often associated with snowy mountains, but you might be pleasantly surprised by how temperate the climate is. Canada motorhome holidays are best enjoyed between May and September, when you can generally look forward to warm, sunny days and bright blue skies. Toronto and Vancouver are particularly lovely in May and June, when temperatures hover in the low twenties. While the big cities become humid in the height of summer, the Rockies remain fresh with temperatures hovering around 22°C – ideal for hiking and kayaking. Just bear in mind that the roads and campsites will be busier in July and August, as this is peak holiday season in Canada.

Winter is a beautiful season in which to visit Canada, especially for snowsports enthusiasts. But, logistically, winter can be difficult time for a motorhome holiday. Mountainous roads are often hard to navigate as ice and snow set in, while most coastal cities see heavy rain. Canadian winters are very cold, too, with temperatures regularly dropping below freezing – so you might find that it’s too chilly to sleep in a motorhome.

The smallest C-Class RV is the efficient C19. It is narrower and will fit into a regular car parking slot. It’s perfect for a couple with its large double bed over the cab, kitchen at the back, and all those other facilities. If you have a young child, the dining table easily drops to make the dinette into another bed.

The Compact Plus vehicle is one of the smallest C-Class RV’s. It features a new and improved layout and is narrower than the larger motorhomes. It fits into a regular parking space and it’s perfect for up to 4 people with its large double bed over the cab and in the back. The dining table converts easily into a bed making the perfect length for a journey with friends or a small family.

A medium-size vehicle, the C25, has been a stalwart of fleet design for many years. With a rear corner double bed as well as a double bed over the cab it is ideal for two couples or a family of up to five – like the C19 the dinette area easily converts to another bed.

The C30 vehicle is the largest motorhome in the fleet. Its special feature is the large separate bedroom at the rear with its 5ft wide bed! There is also a double bed over the cab, a convertible sofa-bed and a convertible dinette bed. The shower is separate from the toilet/ basin as well in the C30.
