Atlanta Holidays

GO ALL OUT IN ATLANTA

A holiday to Atlanta will take you to one of the USA’s most fascinating and historical cities. Known as ‘the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement’, Georgia’s state capital was a-buzz with activity between the Forties and Seventies, as campaigners fought for racial equality. Of course, this city was also famously the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr. From Civil Rights exhibitions to Civil War cemeteries, you can discover all sorts of culturally significant sites on a trip to Atlanta.

Like any vibrant metropolis, though, Atlanta also has its fair share of modern-day attractions. You can catch a show at Fox Theatre, go for a leisurely stroll around Piedmont Park, or marvel at marine life at the USA’s largest aquarium. The city has a jam-packed calendar of events, too, ranging from jazz festivals and live concerts, to whole weekends dedicated to beer and barbecue. Indeed, foodies are sure to be impressed by the Atlanta’s brilliant collection of bars, restaurants and craft breweries. Art-lovers, meanwhile, should check out the High Museum of Art and the bohemian neighbourhood of Little Five Points, whose shops and markets are overflowing with retro trinkets.

Whatever you’re in to, Atlanta holidays offer a thorough introduction to the Deep South. And, if you’re eager to see more of this diverse region, you can easily extend your getaway. You could drive to the coastal city of Savannah, then continue along to Charleston in South Carolina. Or go on a road trip to neighbouring Tennessee, ticking off the Great Smoky Mountains and musical Nashville. Or why not head west to Alabama, where you can see historical cities like Birmingham and Montgomery? Speak to our Travel Specialists to find out more, and let us tailor your trip to you.
