Michigan holidays

MAKE TRACKS FOR MICHIGAN

Wedged between four of North America’s Great Lakes, Michigan is a surprisingly-scenic state. With plenty to offer for nature-lovers and city-dwellers alike, holidays here are far from being ‘one note’. And, with Ontario right on its doorstep, it’s ideal for travellers wanting to visit both the USA and Canada as part of one amazing trip.

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is the place to go for all things adventure, with one of the attractions being Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Made up of mighty, sandstone cliffs and incredibly-clear waters, it’s a go-to destination for boating and kayaking. Then, on the opposite side of the peninsula lies Palms Book State Park, home to lush, pine forests and a 200-foot-wide freshwater spring. There’s lots more to see elsewhere in Michigan, too. Visit the beautiful beaches surrounding Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, or discover the incredible waterfalls and hiking trails around Lake Superior.

If you fancy spending some time in the city, a trip to Michigan’s capital – Detroit – is just the ticket. With museums displaying Van Gough originals, recording studios that have welcomed the likes of Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross, and a Masonic Temple that’s the largest in the world, there’s no shortage of sights to see. Enjoy a leisurely day exploring downtown, making sure to squeeze in a visit to Belle Isle Park and Detroit Public Library. And then, in the evening, it’s time to experience this city’s energy. Scream for the Detroit Lions at an American football game, or kick-back at one of the farm-to-fork restaurants or trendy cocktail bars.

Ready to discover more of Michigan? With many more sights to see and stunning, natural landscapes to explore, your trip can be as relaxing or action-packed as you’d like. Get in touch to find out more and start planning your all-out Michigan holiday.

Head out on an exciting road trip to explore the many beaches, sand dunes and parks dotted along the lake’s shoreline. Discover wineries in Leland, tulip fields in Holland, and the thriving art scene in Saugatuck.
