TORONTO TRIP? TICK.

The most populous city in Canada, Toronto is an exciting, cosmopolitan hub. Brushed by the blue waters of Lake Ontario, this scenic metropolis is brilliantly varied. Vibrant street art and bustling markets stand in the shadows of gleaming skyscrapers, while the off-shore islands serve up all sorts of activities. And Niagara Falls is just a 90-minute drive away. So, whatever you’re into, a holiday to Toronto ticks all the boxes.

Foodies will love St Lawrence Market and the oh-so-cool Distillery District. Eager sightseers can hop between attractions like the CN Tower, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the amazing Ripley’s Aquarium. Toronto’s parks and islands offer a range of things to do, including cycling, kayaking and bird-watching. Sports enthusiasts will be in their element, too, as they cheer on the local teams at baseball, basketball and ice-hockey. And, after each action-packed day, the city’s cocktail bars and craft breweries are on hand to quench your thirst.

Toronto holidays also allow you discover more of Canada, so we’d recommend hiring a car. You can easily take a daytrip to see the dramatic waters of Niagara Falls, and stop off in the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Or why not drive to Ottawa? Canada’s capital city is a four-hour drive away, so it’s worth spending a few days exploring its historical sites. Alternatively, you could combine Toronto and New York into an unforgettable getaway. The Big Apple is only a 90-minute flight from Toronto, so you’ll be walking down Fifth Avenue in no time.

However you want to spend your time, our Travel Specialists will help you plan your perfect holiday to Toronto. Speak to our team to find out more.

Best time to go to Toronto

Toronto’s winters are extremely cold, so it’s best to visit between late April and early October. June to August is when you can expect the city to be busiest. At this time of year – which is affectionately known as ‘patio season’ – temperatures hover in the high twenties, so Toronto bursts into life. There’s a nice buzz, thanks to the outdoor dining options and festivals, including world-famous events like Toronto Jazz Festival, Toronto Fringe Festival and Toronto Pride.

If you’d prefer to avoid the crowds, consider planning your Toronto trip for May, September or October. Daytime temperatures range between 16°C and 22°C, although you’ll want to pack some warmer clothes for the evenings. The city’s events calendar is still pretty busy at this time, too, with the highlight being Toronto International Film Festival in September.
