Niagara Falls holidays

NIAGARA FALLS? NO PROBLEM.

A fun-filled city with a 2,000-foot-wide waterfall on its doorstep, Niagara Falls is one of the most intriguing places in Canada. Sitting on the banks of the Niagara River, this tourist hotspot attracts millions of visitors every year. And it’s easy to see why. With staggering scenery, exciting attractions and an extensive list of activities to choose from, Niagara Falls holidays promise to be top-tier.

Three separate waterfalls make up Niagara Falls. Although this natural wonder stretches across both Canada and the USA, it’s the largest of the trio – Horseshoe Falls – which you can admire from Niagara. Whether you see the crashing currents as they glisten in the summer sun, or you visit in winter to see the icicle-adorned cliffs, a trip to this thunderous waterfall is bound to leave you lost for words.

Beyond Horseshoe Falls, there’s plenty more to see and do in Niagara Falls. Couples should check out one of the area’s esteemed wineries. For an utterly romantic setting, delicious Italian cuisine and, of course, award-winning vintages, Two Sisters Vineyards is the place to go. Or, you can enjoy river-side views and expertly-led tours over at Konzelmann Estate Winery.

Taking the kids to Niagara Falls? You’ll find lots of activities to choose from. Put on some brightly-coloured clothing and head down to the city’s Butterfly Conservatory, where you’ll have the chance to see 45 different species of butterfly. And you can take your pick from Niagara’s theme parks and fairgrounds, for an evening of non-stop entertainment.

If this exciting destination sounds like your cup of tea, then why not get in touch? Speak to one of our Travel Specialists and start planning your Niagara Falls holiday, or let us create a multi-centre holiday with some of Ontario's other amazing destinations.

Things to do in Niagara Falls

There are lots of things to do during your time in the Niagara Falls. But, unsurprisingly, it’s the falls themselves that attract most visitors. A popular viewing spot is Queen Victoria Park, where you can catch jaw-dropping views completely free of charge. If you fancy getting a bit closer, you can pack up your waterproof poncho and take a boat tour along the misty gorge. Or, walk along ancient tunnels and hear the crashing falls from below, when you embark on the Journey Behind the Falls.

Niagara’s Skylon Tower is another worthy addition to your itinerary. Take a glass elevator up to the observation deck, where you’ll have panoramic views of the city from 77 feet in the air. Or, visit the tower’s famous revolving restaurant at night time to see the illuminated falls in all their glory.

Best time to go to Niagara

Weather-wise, the seasons in Canada aren’t too dissimilar from the UK. So, if you plan a Niagara Falls holiday between June and August, you can expect warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. The falls are at their busiest in summer, and this is also when the waterfall is at its most powerful. And, in terms of events, this is a particularly busy time of year.
