Florida Keys

Islamorada holidays

Get inspiration

ISLAMORADA? EASY DOES IT.

Stretching down into the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Keys are just 90 minutes from Miami. And Islamorada holidays put you right at the heart of this beautiful peninsula. It’s a stunning area, formed of six villages known for their coral reefs. And getting there couldn’t be easier. Islamorada’s main street, Morada Way, marks the halfway point between Key Largo and Key West, and is less than a two-hour drive from Miami or Fort Lauderdale.

Shoals of tropical fish living among the wrecks and reefs beside the Keys make Islamorada a paradise for divers and snorkellers. The hidden sandbanks and tucked-away beaches are ideal for those who prefer to enjoy the warm afternoons from the comfort of dry land. And anglers will be spoiled for choice with endless options in this sport-fishing capital of the world. Enjoy an easy day of fishing from one of the piers, or get out onto the waves and spend long mornings drifting at sea.

And there’s plenty more to discover beyond the water. On your Islamorada holiday, you can visit museums which celebrate the rich history of this unique part of Florida. The vibrant local art scene perfectly complements the restaurants and bar scene, where you can try fresh flavours of the sea. From the sleek marinas and watersports, to the exhibitions and boutiques, it’s easy to while away a warm afternoon in Islamorada. And then you can start every evening with sundowners by the sea.

Whether you’re seeking a romantic Caribbean-style break or a family escape from the crowds of Florida’s cities and theme parks, Islamorada holidays tick all the boxes. Speak to our Travel Experts to find out more.

You can discover hidden sand bars – only accessible at low tide – or take a kayak through the unique ecosystem of the mangroves. Why not learn about Islamorada’s heritage at the Florida Keys History and Discovery Center? Paddle into the shallow waters of Anne’s Beach, or sail a boat to the ghost town at Indian Key. Or, for something a little different, watch a sunset show at the CE Amphitheatre in Founders Park, or marvel at the ancient over-ground coral at Windley Key Fossil Reef.
