Meanwhile, families with teens can put their minds to the test in one of International Drive’s escape rooms. You’ll have to work together to problem-solve your way out and get to freedom.

Fancy some downtime? Bag a bargain at one of the designer brand outlets, then unwind with a relaxing spa treatment. You’ll feel refreshed and recharged in no time.

When you book an International Drive holiday, you’ll be in a great location. You’ll have all the excitement and thrills of world-famous theme parks and waterparks right on your doorstep. Visit the likes of Walt Disney World Resort® and Universal Orlando™ Resort to discover magical characters and adrenaline-pumping rides. Plus, with special ticket passes available, you’ll have access to all your favourites, whenever you choose to visit. You won’t want to miss out on the waterparks either, particularly if you’re visiting during summer. Cool off by floating down a lazy river or whizzing down a waterslide.

If you’re after a fun-filled day at the beach, you’ll be pleased to know that some of Florida’s best beaches are just a 90-minute drive away. On either coast, you can check out some amazing stretches of sand. Alternatively, get back to nature within the nearby parks and gardens, hike along one of nature trails of Shingle Creek, or immerse yourself in the famous Everglades National Park.

You definitely won’t be stuck for choice when it comes to evening entertainment on your International Drive holiday. The restaurants here serve a variety of cuisines, from Japanese to Mexican – and don’t forget the all-you-can-eat seafood banquet at Boston Lobster Feast. You’ll find options for every taste, so even fussy little eaters will be happy here. What’s more, International Drive boasts world-class dinner shows. So, whether you’re looking for interactivity, romance or comedy, there’s something for the whole family.

If the grandparents have offered to do the babysitting for the evening, why not make the most of your night off? Enter the carved walls of Icebar Orlando – the biggest of its kind in the world – for a unique experience, before heading to the lounge next door for a dance and a cocktail. If a quieter, more romantic night is on the cards, head to Cooper’s Hawk Winery, where contemporary American cuisine is individually paired with local wines.

We’d recommend visiting International Drive between March and May, to avoid the summer’s large crowds and high humidity. But, if you’re looking to enjoy the theme park thrills and attractions, January to April is also a great time to visit, as temperatures are still lovely and warm. Or, for something a little different, plan your trip for autumn – you’ll be able to International Drive dolled up to the nines, in celebration of Halloween and Thanksgiving.

And don’t discount winter, either. Although this is the quietest season, as it can be chilly, almost all the theme parks and attractions remain open – and the queues will be much shorter. International Drive is always busiest during summer. The big attractions get very busy and temperatures often reach the high thirties – so this might be too warm for some, especially young children.
