Florida's Gulf Coast

Tampa holidays

FUN-FILLED TAMPA TRIPS

On Florida’s sun-soaked Gulf Coast, Tampa serves up a brilliant variety family-friendly attractions. You can enjoy action-packed days at the city’s amusement parks, where you’ll find waterslides, rollercoasters, and all sorts of wildlife. And Tampa is in a perfect position for seeing some of Florida’s best bits. The stunning beaches of Clearwater and St Petersburg are less than a 40-minute drive away, while the thrilling theme parks of Orlando just are an hour away.

But you can easily spend your entire holiday in Tampa itself – especially if you’re taking the kids with you. Marvel at the animals of Florida Aquarium and Tampa Zoo, and look out for wild manatees swimming along the city’s shoreline. Zoom down water flumes at Adventure Island® or get your adrenaline pumping on the rides at Busch Gardens® Tampa Bay. And cheer on the local Tampa Bay Buccaneers at an NFL game.

When you fancy a change of pace, why not make tracks for the city’s cultural sites? Tampa has a range of galleries, museums and theatres. The dining hub of Ybor City is also worth a visit, as this part of town boasts a variety of flavours and cuisines. And, of course, no trip to Florida would be complete without some beach time. You can stroll along the powder-soft sands, go paddle-boarding, or simply relax in the sunshine.

However you want to spend your Tampa holiday, our Travel Specialists will help you plan the perfect getaway. Why not hire a car, so you can visit Clearwater and Orlando? Or you could even go one step further and extend your trip with a few days in Orlando, where the Sunshine State’s world-famous theme parks guarantee a memorable holiday.

And, if you’re into sports, you’ve come to the right place. Tampa is home to popular NFL team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who won the Superbowl in 2021. If you’re visiting during the NFL season – September to February – why not grab tickets for a game at the Raymond James Stadium? Alternatively, keen golfers will love the city’s immaculate courses. If you have a hire car, we’d recommend playing 18 holes at Saddlebrook Resort Tampa, just 30 miles north of the city centre.
