Whilst Moncton is a go-to destination for nature-lovers, you’ll definitely want to spend some time exploring the city whilst you’re here. You’ll want to bring along your camera, too, as this corner of New Brunswick is known for its incredible wall murals.
After you’ve perused some street art, you might fancy heading over to the Moncton Museum. Learn about the region’s fascinating heritage and take a look at the collection of amazing artefacts, some of which date back to the time of the Mi’kmaq people.

And, when it’s time for your evening meal, you’re in luck – there are tonnes of fantastic food spots to choose from in Moncton. Sample fresh seafood at Catch 22 Lobster Bar, tuck into French classics at Les Brume du Coude, or try cheesy poutine at Tide & Boar.

One of Atlantic Canada’s top attractions, the Bay of Fundy is something of a natural wonder. It’s the bay’s unique tidal changes that have put it on the map, but the scenery here is pretty standout, too. With eight miles of dramatic coastline - featuring scatterings of sandstone cliffs and rugged escarpments – it’s nothing short of cinematic. Walk along the ocean floor at low tide, before heading to a viewpoint to see the water level rise by up to 16 metres.

Getting around by foot is a great way to explore the Bay of Fundy, but it’s by no means your only option. You can take a kayak across the water at high tide, go hunting for fossils on a guided tour, or set out on an epic whale-watching boat tour.

In terms of getting out and about, the options are endless of a Moncton holiday. You might want to pay a visit to Bouctouche – a picturesque fishing town that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Here, you’ll spend your time hiking along the wildly-beautiful coastal trails, before sampling some fresh seafood at a local restaurant.

Another excellent hiking destination is Centennial Park – just an eight-minute drive from Moncton city centre. Walk or cycle through the rich, green forest. Or, if you’re planning a trip during winter, enjoy your pick of either skating, snowshoeing, tobogganing, or skiing.
Alternatively, travel a bit further to Cape Enrage, where you can get your kick of adrenaline. Tackle the 183-metre-long zip line, or go abseiling down the steep cliff face.

With similar seasons to the UK, summer holidays to Moncton are always a popular choice. If you plan a trip between June and September, you can expect lots of sunny weather, with temperatures sitting in the mid-twenties. So, you can swim, kayak, cycle and hike to your heart’s content – and you’ll only need your jumper or jacket in the evening.

For a unique experience, why not plan your Atlantic Canada holiday during winter? With temperatures dipping lower that 8°C between December and March, it’s certainly not t-shirt weather. But, you get some incredible snowy scenery and there’s plenty of fun to be had snowshoeing, tobogganing and skiing.
