Why Kissimmee? There are many reasons why you should choose to stay in Kissimmee – in fact, the list is very long. Kissimmee is one of the best places to stay in Florida with your family. Not only is it minutes away from the world-famous theme parks, it also boasts some of the best accommodation for families of all shapes and sizes. You’ll have a spacious villa with your own private pool, and you’re close to thrilling rollercoasters, a variety of shops and lots of restaurants, making a Kissimmee holiday the ideal choice.
Kissimmee’s just a 25-minute drive from Orlando International Airport, so you’ll be sat by the pool before you know it. Legendary theme parks are within easy reach for action-packed days out, just minutes’ away. And Kissimmee is a 90-minute drive from either coast, so a beach day is a must – these stretches of sand are some of the best in the world. To get around easily during your Kissimmee holiday, we’d suggest hiring a car.
Concerned about driving? Don’t be. Florida’s easy to navigate with wide open roads and a grid system, with zero roundabouts. And having a car gives you the flexibility to explore everything that Florida has on offer.
There are so many things to do on your Kissimmee holiday but, naturally, the theme parks are probably at the top of your list. Bring the magic to life at Walt Disney World® Resort, be amazed by thrilling attractions at Universal Orlando Resort, and enjoy incredible underwater adventures at SeaWorld® Parks and Resorts™ Orlando. If you’re travelling with little ones, make sure you also spend a day at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort. And, when you want to explore locally, Kissimmee has plenty to offer. Race go-karts at Fun Spot America, or spend an afternoon in the entertainment district of Old Town Kissimmee.

Believe it or not, though, you don’t need to venture far to find plenty of things to do. Kissimmee offers all sorts of outdoor adventures. Did you know you can enjoy airboat rides, go kayaking along Shingle Creek, or even ride a quad bike in the water? Kissimmee’s also home to Island H20 Live! Water Park – a fun-filled place for families crammed with waterslides, splash zones and lazy rivers.
Last, but no means least, there’s the unique shopping and dining in Kissimmee. It might even be the most convenient places to stay for your Florida trip – but don’t tell the others! Alternatively, if you’d prefer a hotel, you’ll be able to combine convenience – they’re in the best spots – with all the comforts of a resort. Be sure to take a look at Margaritaville® Resort Orlando and the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.
Please ask our experts if you’re not quite sure where to stay – it’s what we are here for!
With 365 days of sunshine and a warm year-round climate, the best time to visit Kissimmee is – anytime. During the summer between June and August, it is very hot though, so this might not be the best time to go if you have very young children. Spring is a great time to go, as Kissimmee is lovely and warm, with temperatures hovering in the mid-to-high twenties. Or, if you’d prefer cooler temperatures, why not take a look at the winter months instead?
If you plan your Kissimmee holiday for winter, you can immerse yourself in the all-out celebrations for Halloween. We’d highly recommend going to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort. Or you could also start your Christmas off with a bang, and get away while everything is sprinkled with lights and decorations – your local festive lights won’t look quite the same again after seeing how well they do it in Florida.
“I love Florida and am very lucky to say I have been a lot. Every time I visit, I always stay in Kissimmee in my own villa. I like having my own space, and it’s so nice to get home after a busy day out, jump in the pool and cook up a feast on the barbecue."

“Driving abroad has always been something I’ve been nervous about, but when I booked a hire car for our family holiday to Kissimmee it was the best decision we made. All the cars are automatic, so driving is quite relaxing – you can concentrate on the road signs and take in the sights. We also had the freedom to stop whenever we saw something that caught our eye, which happened a lot!”
