French Polynesia

Mo’orea holidays

Things to do

HAVE MORE IN MO’OREA

One of the most beautiful islands in French Polynesia, Mo’orea holidays are an escape to a Pacific paradise where the only thing more stunning than the scenery is the service. Choose your luxurious hotel, pick your perfect beach, order the most indulgent cocktail on the menu, and… relax.

Just a 15-minute flight or a 45-minute high-speed ferry from the Tahitian capital of Pape’ete, Mo’orea offers beautiful beaches, bustling bays, a wildlife-filled lagoon, and a mountainous inland filled with hidden villages, ancient temples, lush woodland, and cascading waterfalls. Hike, bike, or take a 4WD tour to explore the island attractions at a pace that suits you. Sail the lagoon on a canoe, jet-ski, or catamaran. Swim with sharks and rays. Help rehabilitate injured and orphaned turtles. Or watch whales breaching at the edge of the ocean.

Explore fruit plantations, shop for rare black pearls, and browse for local art in quaint village galleries. Dance and sing at a traditional Island Night cultural show, take a romantic dinner cruise, or watch the sunset from the comfort of your resort bungalow at the lagoon’s edge. Mo’orea is the perfect size to make exploration easy while offering something new to discover every day you stay. Choose barbecues in the sand or fine dining by the pool. Choose off-road safaris or yacht cruises. Choose to relax and enjoy a resort pampering, or get active and find an island adventure.

Whether you’re travelling with a partner, the whole family, or even on your own, Mo’orea is an ideal choice for your South Pacific holidays.

Best time to visit Mo’orea

Consistent average temperatures of 26°C to 28°C and sunny days throughout the year mean there is never a bad time to visit Mo’orea and French Polynesia. The long winter season, from May to October, is the best time to visit the island as the days are dry and humidity is at its lowest. June to August are the busiest months and flexible travellers seeking to arrive at quieter times will enjoy the transition months of November and April where the weather is usually still consistent but Mo’orea experiences fewer visitors.

Summer, from December to March, is slightly hotter but experiences significantly increased rainfall. Great off-season savings can be enjoyed and most showers are short and heavy but weather can be unpredictable throughout and cyclones, though rare, are not unknown during this time.
