Start your holiday with a two-night stay in Montreal, then pick up your motorhome and hit the open road. You can spend 10 days exploring Quebec’s national parks, lakes and cities, and enjoy some fun activities and delicious food.

Fly into Montreal and make your way to your hotel. Once you’ve check in, why not start exploring this wonderful French-Canadian city? Montreal is perched on an island in the St Lawrence River and has lots to see and do. Put on some comfy shoes and wander through the Montreal Botanical Gardens and visit Canada’s largest church, L’Oratoire Saint-Joseph. Have a spot of lunch in Chinatown or, if you want to experience the real Montreal, head to the neighbourhood of Plateau – the streets are filled with casual cafés, funky bars and contemporary galleries. You’ll collect your campervan this morning. Your adventure starts with an easy dive to Mont Tremblant National Park, passing through Saint-Sauveur on the way. When you reach Mont Tremblant, we’d recommend basing yourself at Lac Monroe campground, as this place has a variety of facilities and activities. Explore the national park by paddling across the lake in a canoe, or head to the main resort of Mont Tremblant to enjoy horse-riding, golf and rock climbing.
Driving distance – 90 miles
You’ll leave Mont Tremblant behind you today. But if you’re visiting in autumn, why not book a helicopter tour before you go? You’ll have fantastic views the vast forests of Quebec from the air, as the maple leaves are gorgeous shades of red, orange and gold.
Today’s drive is short and scenic through unspoilt countryside to the Lanaudière region. When you arrive at your campground, you can spend the afternoon relaxing and admiring your surroundings.
Driving distance – 85 miles
La Maurice National Park is an exceptional place to spend a few days, so we’d recommend a two-night stay here. Make sure you book an excursion to Waber Falls, where you can swim in one of Canada’s most beautiful waterfalls after making your way there by foot and canoe. There are plenty of activities to try in La Mauricie National Park, including canyoning and white-water rafting.
Driving distance – 75 miles
Travel on the back country roads as you make your way to one of Quebec’s natural wonders, Lac Saint Jean. This body of water is so large that it’s essentially an inland sea. You can paddle in the warm waters, unwind on the sandy beaches and admire the stunning coastline. Make sure you stop off in Val-Jalbert – a preserved company town from the Twenties – and the wildlife park at Saint-Felicien.
Driving distance – 170 miles
The scenery on today’s drive is very dramatic – the Charlevoix region boasts the highest rock faces east of the Canadian Rockies. You could stop off at Saint-Aime-des-Lacs to watch wild black bears, or spend a full day in Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Riviere-Malbaie National Park. You could hike the majestic Acropole des Draveurs trail or, if you just want to chill out, park up and relax.

Today is all about the discovering the foodie delights of the Charlevoix region. Enjoy craft beer and cider, nibble prize-winning cheeses, try organic meats and taste delicious local wines. Baie-Saint-Paul is a great place to stop for lunch and you could also visit one of its art galleries whilst you’re here. We’d recommend staying at Jacques-Cartier National Park, which offers an array of activities. And it’s just a 30-minute drive from Quebec City, the provincial capital of Quebec.

You can’t come to Quebec without visiting Quebec City. This charming hub is the only remaining walled city north of Mexico. Get ready to stroll through cobbled lanes, explore unusual boutiques and visit historical sites. After a quick stop in Quebec City, it’s time to return to Montreal to drop off your campervan.
