One of Thailand’s biggest and most fun festivals takes place from 13th to 15th April. Songkran is the Thai New Year and is marked all over the country by processions, ceremonies, and celebrations, but it’s best known as one big national water fight. Wherever you go during Songkran, be prepared to get splashed. You’ll see locals adopting a uniform of brightly coloured shirts over swimming costumes, and the advice is to do the same.
