EASY PEASY PERU TOURS

A place of deep canyons, soaring mountains, tropical islands and dense rainforests, Peru is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Ancient ruins sit high in the Andes, while down at sea level the Pacific Ocean washes up against sandy shores. And a Peru tour is the best way to discover it all.

This magnificent country is best known for Machu Picchu – an Incan citadel in the Andes and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The remote site can be reached by train or bus from the city of Cuzco. Or you can hike the famous Inca Trail – a 26-mile route that takes up to five days, and allows you to explore villages and ruins along the way.

In Cusco, meanwhile, you can discover the Coricancha religious complex – the Incas’ most sacred site. The city also has gorgeous churches and markets, plus plenty of delicious Peruvian food on offer at an array of street stalls and restaurants. Elsewhere, Peru’s capital city, Lima, is a charming mix of ancient and modern. Lose yourself among centuries-old palaces and cathedrals, bustling neighbourhoods, and lively nightlife. The central Plaza Mayor is the heart of the city, surrounded by grand palaces, cathedrals and palm trees.

Southeast of Lima and Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca is South America’s largest lake. This vast expanse of gleaming blue is home to a number of man-made islands, the Uros. These structures are made entirely from reeds and home to the Uros Indigenous group. And, in the south of Peru, you’ll find the mysterious Nazca Lines, where more than 300 different geoglyphs depict animals and plants. These fascinating landmarks are thought to date back to 450AD. If you can, it’s best to see them from a plane or the nearby hills on the Pampas de Jumana.

Whatever you’re most excited about, you can discover endless wonders on one of our Peru tours. Take your pick from escorted tours and independent itineraries, as you explore this remarkable country.
