Overview

Discover the iconic sights and geothermal wonders of Iceland on this seven-day guided tour. You’ll travel in complete comfort onboard a customised, 40-seat coach complete with air-conditioning and double legroom. Plus, you’ll have the services of a Travel Director and a Wellbeing Director onboard.

Starting in Reykjavik, your tour gives you the chance to see the mesmerising Northern Lights, soak in the mineral-rich waters of the Blue Lagoon, see spectacular waterfalls and volcanoes, and learn all about Iceland’s history and culture – and stay in handpicked hotels along the way.

Day 1:

Reykjavic

Welcome to Iceland! Arrive in Reykjavik and transfer to your hotel. You can relax and spend the rest of the day at your leisure, before meeting your group for a special Welcome Dinner. Afterwards, you can search for one of Mother Nature’s most spectacular shows – the Aurora Borealis, more commonly known as the Northern Lights. This natural spectacle turns the night sky into a spectrum of colour.

Visit an impressive geothermal power plant at Hellisheiðavirkjun, the second-largest of its kind in the world, and learn why Iceland is a world leader in the utilisation of geothermal energy. Then continue on to visit the thundering Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, before seeing the magnificent Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes. You’ll also visit the Lava Centre in Hvolsvöllur. Arrive in the town of Vik and see if you can spot the Northern Lights again.

Continue onto the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Thingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plate meet. The world’s oldest parliament was also founded here in A.D. 930.

Continue onto Borgarnes and make a stop at the Icelandic Settlement Centre where you can learn all about Iceland’s fascinating history. You’ll also stop in the pretty village of Reykholt, and enjoy views of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls as you drive through the spectacular landscape. Your day wraps up in Husafell.
