19 Day Australia Coast to Coast

Arrive in Perth and head to the suburb of Fremantle where you will spend your first two nights. Unpack at Seashells Fremantle and explore the stylish George Street precinct, the humming bars and cafes of North Fremantle, and the appealing Swan River and its winding foreshore paths which are all a stroll from these spacious apartments. The heart of the historic harbour city is also within walking distance.

Being in Fremantle you are perfectly located for the ferry to Rottnest Island so why not head here today (at own expense). Board the Rottnest Express and explore the island’s bays and beaches at your own pace by bike or join a group tour. See the lighthouses, secluded bays and beaches, stop for a spot of lunch and count quokkas as you go. Alternatively you might want to explore your surroundings in the port town of Freemantle and enjoy a coffee or wander through the markets (Friday-Sunday).

Today pick up your Maui Campervan and begin your self drive adventure up the west coast. Travel through the Nambung National Park on the way to Geraldton where you’ll see thousands of huge limestone pillars rise from the shifting yellow sands of the Pinnacles Desert and its a truly remarkable site.

Depart Geraldton and head for is Monkey Mia, there is plenty to see en route including Hamelin Bay, home to the most diverse and abundant examples of stromatolites in the world. You can also stop at Shell Beach, a unique and beautiful snow-white beach which is made up of millions of tiny shells up to 10 metres deep and stretching for over 70 kilometres.

Rise early this morning for an outer reef or island snorkelling tour, where you’ll snorkel the West Side of the Muiron Islands exploring sights accessible only by boat and discover why everyone falls in love with Ningaloo. Back on dry land maybe head further north to Coral Bay, a marine paradise where beautiful coral gardens lie just metres from the pristine white sandy beach. This tiny, laid-back seaside location is a must-visit destination for nature lovers. Coral Bay is also one of the places in Australia you can swim with Manta Rays year round.

Spend the day further exploring all this area has to offer and after a few days on the road maybe relax on the white sand beaches and really take in the spectacular surroundings.

Depart Coral Bay and head back south towards Kalbarri National Park. This is a bit of a drive so you might not want to do it all in one day but there is plenty to see on route so just enjoy the scenery. The beauty of being in a campervan is that you can explore at your own pace and stop whenever you want.

As you come into Kalbarri National Park, one of Western Australia’s best known parks, you’ll be met with its scenic gorges though red and white banded sandstone and its soaring coastal cliffs. Its here you will find the stunning Natures Window, a wind-eroded opening in the layered sandstone that frames a view of the Murchison River.

Head back towards Perth and further explore Nambung National Park. The best season to visit the National Park is during September and October, when the wildflowers are blooming and vistas of wattles stretch from horizon to horizon, but the park is interesting year-round.

This morning catch a flight from Sydney to Hamilton Island, one of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland. On arrival at your hotel unpack and settle into island life, relax at the resorts swimming pool or take in the views of the Coral Sea from Catseye Beach and later head out for dinner at one of the islands near by restaurants.

Wake up to another morning in paradise, included in this package is a Morning Islands and Whitehaven Beach Tour so board your Cruise Whitsundays vessel at Hamilton Island Marina to start the tour. Cruise through the Whitsunday Islands to the world famous Whitehaven Beach and enjoy a morning tea onboard. The crystal clear aqua waters and pristine white silica sand stretch for over seven kilometres along Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays. Enjoy time to wander along the beach to your own secluded stretch, laze on the beach or swim in the azure waters.
