Mexico has a tropical climate, so it generally stays warm all year round here. But, as some months are wetter than others, it’s worth checking the seasons before you book your all-inclusive holiday to Mexico.

December to April is the driest time of the year, when the days are long and sunny, with temperatures hovering in the high twenties. But, as you’d expect, these balmy months are also the most popular, so you can expect prices to be higher.

For a cheaper alternative, consider booking your trip for May or November. May is the hottest month, with Cancun seeing average temperatures in the low-thirties. November, meanwhile, is cooler and quieter, as it’s the very end of the rainy season.

June to October is officially hurricane season, with September to mid-October being Mexico’s wettest months. The sea is usually pretty stormy and heavy rain is virtually guaranteed – so it’s best to avoid going at this time of year.
