Day 1: Auckland - Omapere
Travel north from Auckland through giant kauri forests, past indented Kaipara Harbour and the dune-backed beaches of Northland. Stay overnight in the peaceful resort of Omapere, on the shores of Hokianga Harbour.

Days 2 & 3: Omapere - Bay of Islands
Today’s short drive takes you across from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean! You’ve then two days in the Bay of Islands to explore and visit the Treaty House at Waitangi. An optional (pre-booked) sightseeing package includes a half-day bay cruise to view dolphins and other marine life.

Day 4: Bay of Islands - Auckland
Return to Auckland today, with free time to enjoy all the sights of the largest city in New Zealand.

Day 6: Rotorua - Taupo

Drop your car at the Wellington ferry before a relaxed crossing on the scenic Interislander. In Picton, collect your new rental car, and head to Nelson for a two-night stay where you will discover the wonders of Abel Tasman.

Day 11: Nelson - Punakaiki
Travel across the relatively unexplored north-west corner of the South Island to the unique Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki. Here, through the thin layers of weathered limestone, the boundless power of crashing waves has formed spectacular blowholes.

En-route to Christchurch stop for a photograph at the tiny, stone-built Church of the Good Shepherd by the shores of Lake Tekapo. Your tour ends on arrival in Christchurch. Your rental car is booked until tomorrow but must be returned no later than the time it was picked up on day one.
