With this multi-centre trip, you can mix things up with a week on the beach and three nights inland in Bali’s cultural heartland, Ubud.

For such a small island – Bali is about the size of Norfolk – it sure packs a punch. The isle is famous for its beaches, but you can’t miss out on a stay in Ubud. Synonymous with wellness, arts and crafts, and incredible food, this luscious retreat is a picture-perfect place to start or finish your Bali holiday.

Bali Beaches

Bali’s beaches certainly live up to the hype. You’ll find the best sandy swathes in the south, where the Bukit Peninsula is brushed by the Indian Ocean. Southernmost Nusa Dua is one of Bali’s iconic beauty spots, with five-star resorts, white sands and a laidback vibe – ideal for honeymooners or couples seeking some downtime.

Further up the coast, on the east side of the peninsula, sleepy Sanur Beach is equally relaxed. You can paddle in the calm waters, meander through labyrinthine lanes, and go for a leisurely stroll along the path that runs down the back of the beach.

If you’re looking for somewhere livelier, head to popular Kuta. One of Bali’s busiest beaches, this sandy stretch is peppered with bars and clubs. Meanwhile, further north, trendy Seminyak is a haven for surfers, while the hip bars and restaurants offer delicious seafood and fruity cocktails. Ubud

After a week at the beach, head inland to Ubud. Hidden away in Bali’s uplands, this luscious landscape features tiered rice fields, forest-clad mountains and the rushing Ayung River. Known as the ‘Cultural Heart of Bali’, Ubud has a fantastic reputation for the arts and, more recently, yoga retreats and luxury spas. You can watch a traditional dance show, join a sunrise yoga class and relax with a Balinese massage.

There are plenty of sites to see, too. Visit Ubud’s famous Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary see dozens of curious Balinese long-tailed monkeys playing in the trees. Spend a day marvelling at Ubud Palace’s wonderful architecture, or admire paintings and sculptures in ARMA Museum.

There are resorts in Ubud to suit all tastes, so whether you want to unwind in a modern hotel with a spa, stay in a rainforest lodge with a private pool, or retreat to a luxury tent with views over the rice paddies, we’ll have an option for you.
