by Travelbag on 09 June 2016, 17:06PM

If getting married is the most exciting time in a person’s life, then a honeymoon can’t be far off. There are so many dream holiday destinations, which cater to the perfect honeymoon.

Here are the final five in our list of top ten favourites:

6. Las Vegas honeymoons

Las Vegas

If you want the ultimate in glitz, glamour and excitement on your honeymoon, it has to be Las Vegas.

Every year, thousands of couples tie the knot in the city’s many luxury hotels and wedding chapels. Vegas is actually one of the most popular destinations around for honeymoons. As one of the most exciting cities in the world, Las Vegas has a lot to offer newlyweds. Travel the world in a night and visit ancient Egypt, Paris, Italy and New York - all in Casino form of course!

If you fancy going on an adventure during your stay, the world-famous Grand Canyon is only a few hours drive away. This mesmerizing feat of natural beauty is one of the most romantic places in the world, and is the perfect place for a honeymoon selfie.

7. Kenya honeymoons

For a honeymoon with a wild side, consider Kenya.

Famous for its breathtaking scenery, unspoiled beaches and, of course, megadiverse wildlife, Kenya makes for one of the most exciting and culturally explosive honeymoon destinations in the world.

Kenya’s wildlife is among the most diverse on the planet, with elephants, cheetahs, lions and rhinos all sharing the landscape . If you’re looking to add a safari to your honeymoon (and we strongly recommend you do!), visit the Masai Mara National Reserve, where you’ll be able to encounter some majestic animals.

8. Mexico honeymoons

Mexico is a great choice for couples looking to honeymoon somewhere with lots of variety.

The great thing about Mexico is that you can spend the morning lounging about on the beach, and then change things up  by taking a stroll through one of the bustling cities. Some of Mexico’s most renowned beaches can be found in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, and both of these regions feature world-class restaurants - perfect for a romantic meal for two!

Mexico is also great for sightseeing. If you and your other half enjoy a bit of exploring, why not head over to some of the ancient Aztec ruins that are scattered across the country?

9. Orlando honeymoons

Often referred to as the ‘theme park capital of the world’, Orlando is the home of the world-famous Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios. When many people think of Disney World, they don’t automatically think of a dream honeymoon, but there’s loads of things that make Orlando the perfect place to jet off with your other half after your big day.

Disney World is perfect for going on some thrilling rides together, as well as seeing some spectacular world-famous sights like Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. But it’s not all theme parks and rides, Orlando also features a variety of beaches nearby, including the renowned ‘Cocoa Beach’, perfect for soaking up the sunshine and taking a romantic stroll with your new husband or wife.

10. Lombok & The Gili Islands honeymoons

If you’re looking for a magical honeymoon that’s off the beaten track, consider Lombok and the idyllic Gili Islands.

Here you’ll find pristine white sands and crystal clear waters, perfect for relaxing in the Indonesian sunshine with your new husband or wife. The Gili Islands are three idyllic islands off the coast of Lombok. The largest island, Trawangan, is the most cosmopolitan, and has a wide variety of chic bars and restaurants that are perfect for a romantic night out with your other half.

If it’s a desert island getaway that you’re after for your honeymoon, it has to be Gili Meno. This quiet retreat is perfect for long, romantic strolls along an untouched beach, as well as seeing some breathtaking sea life and colourful coral reefs.
