Luxurious ways to spend time in Las Vegas

by Travelbag on 28 May 2015, 10:05AM

Whether you love it or hate it – you have to admit that Las Vegas is a special kind of city.

Even though Las Vegas may be known as a party destination for many young singles - the city is constantly attracting a new kind of visitor too – the luxury traveller. With new luxury hotels popping up every year, and new Michelin starred restaurants opening, visitors wanting to live the highlife need look no further than Las Vegas.

And there’s no better place to live the highlife, really. The city has some incredible, memorable, once in a lifetime luxury experiences on offer – and in this blog post we’ll list off the best ones. So sit back, and enjoy.

Stay in one of the city’s luxurious hotels

The first things you’ll want to do if book a room in one of the city’s most luxurious hotels.  You’ll no doubt be spending a lot of time in your room – so make sure you book a great one. There are a few top picks to choose from, so you’ll have plenty of choice. We’d recommend The Wynn Hotel, The Bellagio, The Excalibur, or Caesars Palace – but there are many more. These hotels offer the Las Vegas experience with a bit more sophistications than the average hotel, and make Las Vegas seem a little more ‘high-end’ than ‘party-town’. Expect city views, luxury thread counts and Champagne room service.

Upgrade your standard room to a suite

Once you’ve chosen your hotel, don’t settle for an average room. If you’re going to experience the luxurious side of Las Vegas – opt for a suite and don’t look back. Las Vegas has several different tiers when it comes to room size, so upgrading is often more affordable than you’d imagine. Some rooms will have more floor space, some will have bigger gadgets and TVs, and other will go completely over the top with in-room hot-tubs.

Book a Private Room at The Foundation Room, Mandalay Bay

The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay is one of the best hidden gems in the city, and is located on the top floor of the hotel. The entrance is hidden away too – and you’ll need a reservation to even get into the elevator. But with one of the best views of The Strip you’ll ever witness, and beautiful, unique, and specially designed décor – it’s no wonder they want to keep this place a secret. If you want a sophisticated night out in a luxury environment, you can’t get better than The Foundation Room. You can sip on Old Fashioned cocktails whilst overlooking the city in your own private drinking room, with table service all night long. Sounds like perfection.

Hire a private Helicopter to The Grand Canyon

If you want a day out of the city, escaping via private helicopter to The Grand Canyon is one (pretty amazing) way to do it. There are lots of tour companies that can take you, and if you hire out the helicopter on a private basis, you’ll be able to set your own itinerary too, which is a good bonus. On your way back from The Grand Canyon, be sure your pilot drives over the strip so you can see it from above – there’s nothing quite like it!

Dine at Alize

One of the city’s only Michelin Starred restaurants, if you want to dine in luxury – this place is where you should be booking your table. The menu is inspired by French cuisine primarily – but there are modern twists to the food too which makes it a fun and surprising place to dine. The service is impeccable and the view is unrivalled by any other, so you’ll have plenty to look at as you dine. Don’t forget your suit and tie – as this is a place you’ll need to dress to impress.

Hire a private pool cabana and VIP service

Fancy a day of relaxation, but still want to splash out and do it in style? The best way is to hire a private pool cabana at your hotel of choice. All hotels offer these – but the more high-end the hotel, the better the cabana will be. Expect private service to your cabana, and sometimes (dependent on the hotel) you may even get access to a private pool too.

Go Jet skiing on Lake Meade

Another one for people wanting to escape the city for a day – this is a great options for active people who love pumping the adrenaline. Lake Meade isn’t far from Las Vegas (it’s within driving distance – or private plane flying distance) and once you arrive you’ll find plenty of vendors renting out fun equipment to use on the lake. Our favourite idea is jet-skiing along the lake, it’s fun, exciting and something not many people can stake their claim on.

Eat the World’s most expensive burger

At The Paris Hotel, Burger Brassiere has a rather unique item on their menu. It is, for want of a better description, a very expensive French interpretation of a hamburger. It’ll cost you over $700 to indulge in the world's most expensive, but if you have that much money to burn – this is a great way to do it. After all, how many people can say they’ve eaten the world’s most expensive hamburger? So, what makes it so expensive? Well, it comes with Kobe beef and Maine lobster (two of the finest ingredients in fine cuisine) and this deliciously expensive combination is topped off with caramelized onions, imported Brie, prosciutto and 100-year aged balsamic vinegar. What else did you expect? Only the best here!

Hire a private Shopper for the day

If you want to shop in the many Las Vegas shopping malls (and trust us, there are more than you’ll ever be able to visit!), but don’t fancy doing the legwork yourself – you can hire a private shopper who will show you exactly where you should be shopping. Some even have little golf buggies for the shopping malls, so you never have to be on your feet. Unless you’re jumping for joy of course! Sounds like the perfect way to refill your wardrobe, without the hassle and stress of busy shopping malls and achy feet.
