Escape the rain with Travelbag

by Anna Streatfeild on 06 July 2012, 15:07PM Escape the rain with Travelbag

Last minute holidays for July and August have seen a sharp rise in bookings over the past few weeks. Travelbag, the tailor-made travel experts, has experienced a 43% increase in summer holiday bookings made in June this year, compared to the over the same period in 2011.

The need to escape the terrible weather we have been experiencing for some guaranteed good weather is demonstrated by the biggest rises being in bookings to Southern Europe, the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and South East Asia; all destinations for summer beach holidays.

In addition to the wet weather at home, the talk of over-crowing, delays and traffic caused by the huge influx of visitors for the Olympics, has proven to be another incentive for people to look to book an overseas holiday this summer.

Travelbag’s Managing Director Tony Carty commented, “It’s been reported that this weekend some areas of the UK will be receiving a month’s worth of rain over 24 hours, and we’re in July! With no imminent end in the bad weather in sight, it’s no wonder people are looking to escape to the sun. We have some fantastic offers available for beach holidays in July and August and our phones are running off the hook with customers looking to snap up a holiday bargain.”
