Explore the exotic land of Morocco on this ten day adventure journeying through southern Morocco. Get lost in the colourful chaos of Marrakech with its winding souks, bustling street vendors and winding alleyways. Sample traditional fare and try your hand at making some of Morocco's most famous dishes. Travel by camel through the Sahara and overnight in a remote desert camp beneath the stars.
Meet the locals as you spend time in remote villages, hear the stories and experience the traditional ways of life as you become absorbed in this fascinating culture. Travelling in a small group with like-minded people you will get the chance to go places you wouldn't if you were on the tourist trail.
Welcome to Morocco! Arrive by the afternoon today and meet your tour guide and group at 6pm for a tour briefing.
If you have time before the meeting you can book optional activities in the city, visit the Palais Bahia or Palais Badi, take a walk round the Marjorelle Gardens or explore the Saadian Tombs.

Today you will drive into the High Atlas Mountains and to the village of Imlil where you will join a one hour trek to the remote village of Aroumd. With stunning views of the mountains and an opportunity to experience the traditional Berber culture.
Spend the nights in a mountain gite run by a local family and enjoy tradition al food and hospitality. Explore the village and surrounding farmlands and if the weather permits take a hike to the pilgrimage shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. Overnight in this peaceful oasis, removed from the modern world.
Overnight in a traditional gite with shared facilities
This morning you will travel along Morocco's highest pass, Tizi n'Tichka to Ait Benhaddou on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Once an important stop for caravans as they carried salt across the Sahara, Ait Benhaddou is almost unchanged since the 11th century.
Walk with your group through the old town and visit a local tea house on the banks of the river. Tawesna teahouse is a community run establishment providing income for local women, who are happy to sit and chat about their experiences. This evening is free for your own exploration, or, you could join a local cooking demonstration and sample couscous and tagine, Morocco's most famous dishes.

Journey south this morning, towards the Sahara, stopping in Ouarzazate along the way, a place regularly used as a filming location. Travel through the lush Draa Valley to Zagora where you will stay for the night.
This small town on the edge of the Sahara is your home for the night, stroll through the palm groves, explore the ksars and take in the surrounding countryside.

Today you will depart Zagora and travel along the desolate Jbel Tadrart ranges, past the occasional date palm oasis and to the township of Tamegroute. On arrival take a tour of a library filled with ancient scripts of science, literature and the stories of the prophet Mohammed. Join a local guide and uncover the underground Kasbah before carrying on to the frontier town of M'Hamid.
From here you will take a short camel ride through the dunes joining your 4WD vehicles for the second part of your journey to your desert camp beneath the stars!
Overnight in a Desert Camp
Travel to the market town of Oulad Berhil today, this journey will take around eight hours so plenty of stops have been factored in. Enjoy the desert scenery and marvel at the indigenous argan trees as you pass through the reserve, if you're lucky you might just see a goat climbing one!
On arrival relax at your local riad and enjoy a well earned rest.

Explore the souks of Taroudant this morning, haggling with the local traders over traditional Moroccan ceramics and mosaics.
This afternoon you will head to Essaouira where you will spend the next tow nights. This picturesque seaside town has a lively port, beautiful whitewashed houses and plenty of shops and art galleries to explore. Take a walking tour on day two through medina, enjoy some freshly caught produce at the port and indulge in a hammam or local-style bath.
Overnight in a Riad
After a free morning to spend exploring Essaouira you will travel back to Marrakech for your final night. On arrival why not book a local cooking class or hot air balloon ride? You could do a luxury spa hammam or take a cycling day trip back up the Atlas Mountains, be as relaxed or as adventurous as you wish.
