Overview

From the vast plains of Tsavo National Park to the golden sands of Diani Beach, this week-long Kenyan adventure ticks off some of Kenya's top safari destinations as well as incorporating a beautiful beach stay on the south-west coast, overlooking the Indian Ocean.

 

This whistle stop tour of Kenya explores Tsavo National Park where you can find Masai giraffe, Burchells zebra and cape buffalo amongst many other species, the region is known for the pancake tortoise and many other reptiles and lizards. Next stop is Amboseli National Park. Renowned for its large herds of elephants Amboseli is set against the epic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, which makes for some spectacular photos!

 

You will spend a night in Taita Hills, a private wildlife sanctuary that plays an important role in the protection and conservation of Kenya's wildlife. The lodge is set high up on stilts overlooking the watering hole and saltlick, providing the perfect place to relax and take in the views.

 

Finally, you will head to Diani Beach where a three night stay awaits you, kick back and relax after your wildlife adventure. Take in a spa treatment, swim in the pool or head out into the ocean to witness the corals and aquatic life.

 

This trip showcases some of Kenya's highlights and can be extended or tailored to your exact requirements.

Day 1

Arrive Mombasa

On arrival you will be collected and taken  to your Mombasa Beach hotel for a one night stay. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool in preparation for your wildlife adventure departing in the morning.

Day 2

Mombasa Beaches to Tsavo National Park

After an early breakfast you will be collected and driven north towards Nairobi, past the outskirts of Mombasa and following the route of the British built railway line. Soon, the plains of Tsavo will be seen and you will enter the park at the east.

 

Once in the park the vehicle roof can come down and your wildlife adventure begins! Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and a relax before heading out on your evening game drive. Look out for the elephants that traverse the park, often covered in red soil, they can be a dramatic sight! This region is known for the pancake tortoise amongst other reptiles and lizards.

Day 3

Tsavo National Park to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast its time to head to Amboseli National Park, passing by Hunters Lodge and the township of Emali you will finally reach Amboseli, and, if you're lucky, catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

After lunch at the lodge why not take a dip in the pool before joining your guide for a game drive through the park. Best known for its elephants Amboseli is home to huge herds, often found cooling off in the swampy ground. There's plenty more wildlife here however, cheetah, buffalo and giraffe can be spotted as well as gazelles and other game.

Day 4

Amboseli National Park to Taita Hills

Enjoy an early morning game drive before a delicious breakfast back at the lodge. Today you will continue on to Taita Hills Sanctuary arriving in time for lunch. The Taita Hills Conservancy covers 28,000 acres of mosaic habitat that straddles the area between Tsavo East and Tsavo West, creating a wildlife corridor. 

 

This unique area plays an important role in the conservation and protection of Kenya's wildlife and is the perfect place for wildlife experiences. Head out on a night game drive and view the nocturnal wildlife in their natural habitat.

 

Tonight you will stay at Saltlick Lodge, a lodge raised on stilts with main areas overlooking the waterhole and saltlick. Enjoy a pre-evening drink while watching the parks residents.

Day 5

Taita Hills to Diani Beach

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the sanctuary before continuing your journey to the Mombasa beaches.

 

Reaching your hotel in the afternoon you can check in and start relaxing straight away! Why not book a spa treatment for your arrival or simply relax by the pool with a good book.

Days 6 & 7

Diani Beach

Set within 80 acres of tropical gardens overlooking the Indian Ocean, Baobab Beach Resort is an oasis of tranquillity. Looking out over vast stretches of golden beach and shaded by palms trees, here is the perfect spot to kick back and relax after your safari adventure.

 

Head out to the reef for some big game fishing, snorkel in the ocean or try your hand at wind-surfing. Alternatively, book yourself into the spa for a relaxing treatment or enjoy a gentle walk through the indigenous forest.

Day 8

Depart Diani Beach

You will be collected from your hotel this morning and taken to Mombasa Airport to connect with your onward flight.

 

Why not extend your stay in Kenya with a trip to the iconic Masai Mara, you can access the park via air or road for exceptional wildlife viewing.

Excess luggage can be handed over at the beginning, if needed, and stored in Nairobi. There will be an additional charge of USD 40 per booking for excess luggage, until you return to Nairobi. This service can be pre-booked in advance, or sorted on the day.
