GLAMPING ON THE NINGALOO REEF

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, located in Cape Range National Park, offers glamping at its absolute best. The spacious safari-style tents sit on raised platforms, so you can easily enjoy wonderful views of the beach and reef beyond. Wake to the song of a butcher bird, the raucous squawks of a galah, or the thump of a wallaby passing by. And, at night, you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves brushing the beach.

The activities at Sal Salis focus on the reef and the pristine natural surroundings, so you can kayak and snorkel in the sea and go bird-spotting on guided walks through Cape Range National Park. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef lies just off-shore, too. Here, you can swim with whale sharks between March and July and see humpback whales from August to October.

And, each day, the chef prepares a delicious daily menu featuring seasonal, local produce and fresh seafood. This place is eager to support local farmers and vineyards, so you’ll find excellent Australian wines on the menu. Dinner is the real highlight – you can enjoy a three-course meal carefully created and served under the stars.

UNIQUE UNDERWATER SUITES

This truly out-of-this-world experience should be on everyone’s bucket list! Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, gives every guest front-row seats to the underwater wonderland of the Great Barrier Reef. You’ll head out to the pontoon and spend the day relaxing, snorkelling, and swimming with the day visitors. By mid-afternoon, it’ll just be you and a handful of other overnight guests, so you’ll have the reef pontoon to yourselves. In the evening, watch the sunset and enjoy a gourmet dinner under the stars before retreating to your underwater Reefsuite.
