Day 1

Arrive in Havana

Arrive in Havana at any time. You’ll be met and transferred to your “casa particular”, a homestay where you will experience life the Cuban way. Spend the day exploring the city before your evening welcome meeting, a chance to meet your guide, group and find out more about your tour. Later, grab a bite to eat with your group.

Day 2

Havana

Spend today touring Havana by vintage car before going on a walking tour of Old Havana with your guide. Discover iconic landmarks like La Catedral de San Cristóbal de La Habana, the Palacio de los Marqueses de Aguas Claras, and the Plaza de Armas. In the afternoon, you could visit museums, or you may want to attend a cabaret performance at the Tropicana. The choice is yours.

Day 3

Havana - Sancti Spíritus

Travel to Sancti Spíritus today and enjoy an orientation walk of this overlooked colonial gem. For a deeper dive into its history, an official guided tour is recommended.

Day 4

Sancti Spíritus - Bayamo

Embark on an overland journey across Eastern Cuba to Bayamo. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon, where you can choose to explore like a local by hiring a horse-cart for a tour, or simply people watch in the pedestrian-only Plaza de la Revolución.

Day 5

Bayamo – Baracoa

Travel from Bayamo to picturesque Baracoa. Upon arrival, take an orientation walk and familarise yourself with this charming town. It’s situated on the bay with a backdrop of mountains has plenty to offer like its stunning beaches and waterfalls. Activities are also plentiful, with hiking opportunities ans museums to visit. The best way to get around is on foot, you’ll have just over two days here meaning plenty of time to see it all. After, wander the Malecón (boardwalk) and visit the forts built to defend the city from pirates.

Day 6

Baracoa

Immerse yourself in local culture in Baracoa by visiting a cacao farm, sampling regional delicacies, and discovering G Adventures' project preserving Cuba's unique species. Enjoy a free evening to stroll along the seaside boardwalk or grab a bite to eat in town. Seize the opportunity to support the Baracoa community by purchasing unique handicrafts made by women, men, and youth. Experience the vibrant local culture while actively contributing to the livelihoods of the community.

Day 7

Baracoa

Enjoy a full free day in Baracoa, exploring its scenic surroundings. Consider hiking, discovering breath-taking beaches, or exploring the city and nearby mountains. Be sure not to miss the striking black sand beaches and find time to visit Playa Maguana and Playa Nava, easily accessible by taxi or bike ride. Playa Maguana, with its turquoise water and golden sand, is a true paradise for relaxation. For adventure, embark on an excursion through the Yumurí River Canyon. Alternatively, explore Finca Duaba for a taste of the Baracoan countryside, walking through trails surrounded by lush tropical plants. End your day with a meal at the ranchón-style restaurant or a refreshing swim in the Río Duaba. The day is yours to tailor, embracing the beauty and diversity of Baracoa.

Day 8:

Baracoa – Santiago de Cuba

Set off on a scenic drive along the rugged coast towards Santiago de Cuba. When you arrive take an orientation walk with your guide to get to know the area better. Take advantage of your free time and explore this Afro-Cuban city by visiting revolutionary sites like the Moncada Barracks. Dive into history with visits to museums and colonial churches. Get involved with Santiago’s vibrant traditional music scene, where rhythmic beats can entice even the shyest dancer to get their groove on.

Day 9

Santiago de Cuba - Sierra Maestra

Journey into the heart of Sierra Maestra National Park and stay in quaint wooden cabins by the Yara River. Enjoy your free time and go for a hike or simply unwind and embrace nature.

Day 10

Sierra Maestra - Camagüey

Retrace the steps of Che Guevarra and Fidel Castro as you hike through the Sierra Maestra mountains and learn more about Cuba’s history. Explore their hidden headquarters in the hills, including Casa de Fidel – Fidel's residence during his time in the mountains. In the afternoon, continue west across the Carretera Central before arriving in Camagüey, where you’ll have free time to explore. Explore the islands third largest city in a “bicitaxi” and see its colonial heritage, with buildings, plazas, tinajones, and large clay pots traditionally used in Spain and its New World colonies for collecting rainwater. In the evening, enjoy the city’s nightlife

Day 11:

Camagüey - Trinidad

Continue onto the colonial city of Trinidad today, taking in the beautiful scenery on your way. Then stop for an optional visit to La Torre del Esclavo.Trinidad boasts lovely Spanish-style churches, vibrant museums, and a rich cultural scene with local musicians playing salsa or son. Take a short, guided walk and get acquainted with the city, then get ready to loosen your hips and dive into the world of salsa!

Day 12:

Trinidad

Seize the day and explore Trinidad to the fullest. Choose to hike in the nearby Topes de Collantes National Park, marvel at the Salto del Caburní waterfall, or visit Ancón Beach for diving, snorkelling or lounging. End your day with a local dinner with your group hosted by one of the homestay families – an amazing chance to taste authentic Cuban flavours.

Day 13:

Trinidad - Cienfuegos

Travel along the coast towards Cienfuegos, making a detour through Santa Clara to visit the Che Mausoleum. There you’ll see the bronze statue of Che Guevara which commemorates the 20th anniversary of his passing in Bolivia. Continue to Cienfuegos and go on an orientation walk with your guide to discover more about this colonial city.

Day 14:

Cienfuegos - Havana

Drive along picture-perfect Bay of Pigs and delve into Cuba’s 1961 victory at the Giron Museum. In your free time enjoy swimming and snorkelling before returning to Havana. As the day winds down, spend your final night out with your group in the vibrant capital of Cuba.
