Go Big in Boston. Go Mega in Massachusetts.

On the west coast of Canada, Vancouver is a cosmopolitan city that sits between the Coastal Mountains and Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia. With direct flights from the UK, it's easily accessible and is a great starting point for your Canada adventure. There is so much to do in Vancouver you can easily spend three days or more in the city before heading on to the wider province or even boarding a cruise ship to explore the Alaskan coastline.

There is a great mixture of attractions in Vancouver from museums and galleries, to high-end shopping, nature, and plenty of delicious food. You could easily spend your whole trip eating your way through the markets and restaurants. Fill up at the bustling stalls on Granville Island or enjoy a guided food tour that will take you to some of the hidden gems. Chinatown is also an amazing place to visit as Vancouver has one of the largest Chinese populations outside of China. The city also has a handful of Michelin-accredited restaurants so for those looking for high-end dinner you'll be spoilt for choice.

It's not just about the food though as Vancouver is home to Stanley Park, 1,000 acres of temperate rainforest right next to the skyscrapers, and is a wonderful place to spend a half day exploring the landmarks and you might even come across a beach or two. As you're next to the water, we would definitely recommend heading out on a whale-watching trip if you're here between March and October. Just outside of the city, you will be in the mountains so head to Grouse Mountain and enjoy soft adventure and amazing views over Vancouver.

Whatever you’re into, our experts will help you plan the perfect itinerary, so you can really make the most of your time in Vancouver. Something else to note about Vancouver is you can come any time of the year, in the summer you can enjoy warm days with a gentle breeze, and in the winter temperatures remain moderately warm thanks to the coastal location. Autumn and Spring are also great times to come as it will be less crowded and in Autumn you will be able to see the leaves change colour.

Check out our range of attractions and excursions, all of which can be pre-booked by speaking to one of our Travel Specialists.

Day 1

Vancouver has a lot to offer so get out early today and start exploring. One of the best ways to explore is to hire a bike, so grab a helmet and a padlock and head to Stanley Park; a green oasis in the midst of the urban landscape of Vancouver. Cycle around the seawall and discover landmarks including Prospect Point, Siwash Rock, and even a beach or two. If you're traveling with the kids then why not head to the aquarium and learn about marine research and conservation?

After a busy morning maybe take to the skies and enjoy a float plane ride to see the sights of Vancouver from above. The Vancouver Classic Panorama is the most popular tour and gives you a 20-minute flight where you will soar above the skyline and see Lions Gate, Stanley Park, and the North Shore Mountains. Alternatively, you could head out on the water and enjoy a whale-watching cruise if you are in Vancouver between March and October.

In the evening take it easy and head to Chinatown to sample some of the delicious dishes before heading back to the hotel to get some sleep.
