MELBOURNE, WINE AND WELLNESS

Spend a couple of days exploring all the exciting things the city of Melbourne has to offer. Foodies will be overrun with choices of where to dine, beach lovers can ride the tram or the train to St Kilda, and sports fans will love visiting the Melbourne Cricket Ground or exploring Albert Park, home to the Australian Formula 1. Next, venture to one of Australia’s premium wine regions – the Yarra Valley - just an hour’s drive away.

Unwind in the bubbling mineral waters of Hepburn Springs, enjoy paddleboarding on Jubilee Lake, and go in search of the abundant local wildlife, including wallabies, wombats, and kookaburras.

HEAD FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE

There’s plenty to explore on a New Hampshire holiday with its cosy towns and sprawling wilderness areas.

The Appalachian Trail passes through the state, running for hundreds of kilometres, and White Mountain National Forest is just waiting to be explored. The trails of White Mountain National Forest are verdant in summer, crisp in spring and autumn, and picture-perfect all year round. You’ll spot white-tailed deer, foxes, and even black bears as you explore. Autumn is the best time to tackle the trails throughout the state, where you’ll be treated to beautiful scenery as the trees transition into their fiery shades - a sight not to be missed!

In the summer, head to the crowning jewel of the state’s coastline, Hampton Beach, where you can relax, surf, and enjoy fireworks as the sun sets. New Hampshire is a skiers and boarders paradise in the winter, as the state is blanketed in snow, and its mountains are the perfect playground. Winter is also the quietest time of year in the cities, so you can explore places like Manchester and Concord in peace.

SAFARI? A WALK IN THE PARK

The Masai Mara is the ultimate destination for a Kenya safari holiday. Located in the southwest of the country and tucked inside the Great Rift Valley, this incredible grassland covers nearly 600 square miles. And it shares an unfenced border with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, allowing animals to move freely between the two. There’s never a bad time to go on safari in the Masai Mara, as there are excellent wildlife-watching opportunities all year round. Its diverse population includes the ‘Big Five’, as well as giraffes, hippos, zebras, and hundreds of bird species. And you’ll have a brilliant chance of seeing cheetahs, as the Masai Mara is one of the best places in the world to see them.

Make sure you also spend some time learning about the Maasai people. Instantly recognisable by their iconic red robes and impressive shields – which you can also see on Kenya’s national flag – the Maasai Tribe continues to uphold many of their traditional customs.

Croatia’s beauty doesn’t end with its cities and beaches, as it’s also home to stunning national parks. Visit Plitvice, where 16 lakes are connected by waterfalls in a hillside forest. Walk among its trees on footpaths and wooden bridges, or look for falcons as you float across the lakes. Sail to find the 12th-century Benedictine monastery and the church of St. Mary in the woodland of Mljet.
