Get more inspiration

YOUR DREAM-LIKE DOWN UNDER ADVENTURE AWAITS

Australia is a unique destination. And spending two weeks here is the perfect way to see some of its incredible highlights. From the exquisite coastal views to the glorious countryside - a trip down under will leave you feeling on top of the world.

WHY CHOOSE AUSTRALIA?

This captivating country is filled with charm and character, and where lively, bustling cities sit beside light-golden beaches. Tourists from all over the world visit to see the cultural and historical attractions here - Australia holidays boast some of the most memorable experiences on Earth, with destinations like SydneyMelbourneQueenslandTasmania, and The Great Barrier Reef. Oz really is your oyster!

LOVELY LOCALS

What makes Australia holidays truly beautiful are the locals. And the country’s multicultural history is reflected in the delicious delicacies served in the destination’s most popular restaurants. No matter where you go, you can expect a warm welcome.

How about flying out on a Friday and returning on a Sunday two weeks later? This will give you plenty of time to explore. Let’s not forget Australia is vast. And of course, there are many ways to spend two weeks on the other side of the world, but here are two itinerary suggestions. Take a look.

SYDNEY? SORTED.

Kick off your adventure in the stunning city of Sydney. Walk along the beautiful harbour, bask in the captivating culture, sunbathe on the sun-soaked beaches, browse the sophisticated shops, and feast on the tasty delights of the dynamic dining scene. There’s the Sydney Opera House which, of course, we recommend visiting. Then, there’s the impressive Sydney Harbour Bridge, and let’s not forget about the Royal Botanic Gardens. The to-do list is endless.

In addition to the world-famous landmarks, we recommend waking up early to catch the mesmerizing sunrise views! You’ll notice how many people are out in the early morning soaking up these glorious sights. And what better way to start the day?

BLISSFUL BONDI

If you consider yourself a bit of a beach bum, get your sunscreen ready because you’re heading to one of the most famous beaches on Earth! Beautiful Bondi Beach has crystal-blue waves, soft sand and dazzling marine life. And whilst you’re there, how about strolling along the scenic coastal walk to Coogee - a relaxed seaside suburb nearby? You could hop on a ferry and take in the views of the harbour. If you’re feeling peckish, there’s an array of restaurants and bars to choose from in nearby Sunny Hills. Fancy some unforgettable mountainous views? The iconic Blue Mountains are just a short distance away, too.

AWE-INSPIRING ALICE SPRINGS

Next, take a visit to the traditional outback town of Alice Springs. It’s also called the gateway to Australia’s ‘Red Centre’ and is the perfect place to learn more about Australia’s Aboriginal culture and intriguing history. From here, you’ll discover the vast landscapes of Uluru – the mystical rock formations that will leave you in awe.

THE GREAT BARRIER REEF? TICK!

As you fly to Queensland, prepare to swap luscious scenery and historical monuments for dream-worthy, white-sand beaches. Head to the Whitsunday Islands or take a trip to Cairns and Port Douglas - both boast fantastic opportunities to swim in the Great Barrier Reef. Dive or snorkel in these iconic waters - you’ll come across majestic sea creatures and vibrantly-coloured coral. This is a real bucket-list experience.

After swimming, head back on foot to explore the Daintree Rainforest. You can enjoy a spot of birdwatching or take a relaxing cruise along the river. Notice where the rainforest meets the reefs; this is the only place in the world where two UNESCO world heritage sites are next to each other!

NORTH TO THE SOUTH? NO PROBLEM!

Travelling from the north to the south is another way to explore many Australian sights! Darwin is situated right at the top of Australia, and Adelaide is at the bottom. So why not journey from one to the other, visiting world-class attractions and taking in tremendous sights along the way? If this sounds like your kind of holiday, then read on!

First, fly into sunny Darwin. Spend time exploring the waterfront city, and tuck into some of the sumptuous dishes. Better yet, browse the sunset markets at magical Mindil Beach! They’re often open and at their most atmospheric during Australia’s dry season.

NATURAL BEAUTY LIKE NOWHERE ELSE

It’s good to know that when you’re in Darwin, you’re extremely close to Kakadu National Park. You’ll find some incredible ancient rock formations. Don’t forget to take a picture or two of these awe-inspiring sights! From here, you could also visit the nearby Litchfield National Park, where you’ll be at one with the epic wildlife, waterfalls and greenery surrounding you.

How about a trip to Glenelg? No matter what you want to do, you can do it here! From action-filled fun at a popular surfing spot to sipping on colourful cocktails at a bustling bar at sunset - this beach-side suburb has everything you need.

SAY G’DAY TO ADELAIDE

Finally, head back to Darwin and hop on the world-famous Ghan train journey. This will take you through the Australian Outback and all the way to Adelaide. You’re guaranteed some fantastic views on the way. Exploring Adelaide is a true joy. And what really stands out here is the exceptional dining scene. How about spending some time browsing the tasty treats at one of the food markets? Alternatively, indulge in some sophisticated alfresco dining at one of the top-rated restaurants or tuck into classic grub at a beach-front bar. There is something for everyone.

READY FOR YOUR OZ ESCAPE?

As we said, Australia is huge! And there are many different routes and itineraries for you to choose from. Whether you’re an adventurer, nature-lover, sun-worshipper, or want to plan a fun-filled family holiday to Australia - there’s somewhere that caters to you. Our Australia multi-centre holidays have it all.

Take a look at what Travelbag’s Lucian Baciu had to say about his recent visit:

“The Northern Territory of Australia offers a unique and amazing experience for travellers, with attractions such as Kakadu National Park, the 13 Gorges, the Field of Lights, and Uluru. It’s an excellent travel destination for those seeking adventure and culture.” - Lucian Baciu.
