CAN’T GET AN AUSTRALIA HOLIDAY OFF YOUR MIND?

Offering culture, scenery, and adventure in spades, it’s hard to go wrong with an Australia holiday. Trips here are full of fun and excitement - with plenty of ocean-side relaxation thrown in for good measure.

With so much to see and do across this incredible country, a multi-centre holiday is the only way to go. Although, all the other details are totally up to you. You could stick to just one state or explore two or three on the same trip. You could get your hands on a 17-hour direct flight to Perth or fly elsewhere and add on a stopover in another country. You could join a guided group tour or discover the sights in your own time. The list goes on!

Like we said, it’s up to you. And to help you decide, we’ve put together our favourite Australia multi-centre holidays. Take a look.

SINGAPORE STOPOVER? SORTED.

We all know that the flight time over to Australia isn’t exactly short. However, there are ways that you can break up the journey, all while adding a little extra adventure to your holiday. One of the most popular stopover options is Singapore, which is packed with things for you to explore. Sample delicious street food at one of the Hawker Centres, see nature and technology work in harmony at the Gardens by the Bay and finish your day gazing over the cityscape at a trendy rooftop bar.

Then, the rest of your Australia holiday is all yours to play with. You could switch things up and dedicate your trip to discovering the country’s best beaches, or you could spend some more time in the city. See the highlights of Cairns, Sydney and Melbourne in the East, Perth in the West, and Adelaide in the South.

EPIC CAMPERVAN ADVENTURE

If you’re after full flexibility during your Australia holiday, a campervan road trip is the way to go. You’ll get to travel at your own pace, following an itinerary that’s totally unique to you. And, while there are plenty of incredible driving routes for you to follow throughout Australia, the East Coast is a good place to start if you’re feeling overwhelmed with options.

Start things off in Sydney, seeing the iconic Opera House and paying a visit to the TV-famous Bondi Beach before beginning your self-drive journey up to Cairns. Stop to explore breathtaking Byron Bay, chill out in surf-central Noosa, and be sure to book a boat trip to the Whitsundays. Then, once you arrive in Cairns, there’s plenty more to do. Drive up to the Daintree Rainforest or plan a snorkelling adventure on the Great Barrier Reef.

OFF-THE-RAILS LUXURY

Only a four-and-a-half-hour flight from Singapore, Darwin is a fantastic starting point for your holiday if you’re planning an Asia-Australia combo. This central city also marks the beginning of one of Australia’s most epic rail journeys - The Ghan Expedition. Treat yourself to a high-luxury experience, soaking up unforgettable sights as you travel coast-to-coast, covering almost 3,000 kilometres in just four days.

You’ll make some stops along the way, allowing you to take in the spectacular Outback views fully. You even have the option to add on some extra excursions, such as a scenic flight over iconic Uluru during your visit to Alice Springs or a tour of the historic opal mines in Coober Pedy. Then, it’s back onboard The Ghan, relaxing before reaching your final stop, Adelaide. Stay put and explore the city or continue your adventure along the sparkling South Coast.

LOOKING FOR WILDLIFE? WE GOT YOU.

Covering over half of the country’s land mass, Western Australia is a destination that shouldn’t be overlooked. In fact, it should be top of your bucket list thanks to the wildlife alone, considering it’s home to Australia’s very own Big Five. With this 12-day itinerary, we’re serving up the ultimate safari experience, giving you the chance to go glamping right beside Ningaloo Reef. Pretty cool, right?

Your trip takes off in the biggest of Western Australia’s cities, Perth. You can take some time sussing out the local food scene, making your way around the eclectic neighbourhoods. But the star of the show has to be nearby Rottnest Island, where you can snap a selfie with one of the friendly quokkas. Then, after catching a flight up to Exmouth, it’s glamping time. Spot kangaroos and rock wallabies inland at Cape Range National Park before exploring the magical Ningaloo Reef, where turtles, manta rays and whale sharks await.

ALL-OUT WESTERN WONDERS

If you can’t get enough of Western Australia and want to see even more other-worldly wonders, this next multi-centre holiday option is the one for you. Packed full of sights that’ll blow your socks off, this itinerary covers a lot of ground, and once again, you’ll be flying into Perth. Although, for the rest of your trip, you’ll have the luxury of being driven around by your experienced driver guide.

Go dolphin spotting in Monkey Mia, take in mind-blowing scenery in Kalbarri, and stand beneath the mighty 27-million-year-old Wave Rock. And that’s not all - there’s plenty more in store along the south coast, too. Discover the wild beauty of Esperance, including the pink-coloured Lake Lefroy, before heading down to the Margaret River region, toasting your trip with a celebratory glass of local wine.

TRIP OF A LIFETIME? TICK.

While there’s no denying the wow factor you get from a Western Australia holiday, it has to be said that the final trip on our list takes some beating. After all, Australia and New Zealand are great holiday destinations in their own right, but as a multi-centre holiday, it’s once-in-a-lifetime material.

Begin your adventure in Australia, discovering the artsy city of Melbourne. Jump on a plane to Uluru and learn about Aboriginal history first-hand before hopping up to Cairns – the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. One final stop in Sydney and the portion of your trip will be complete. But, of course, your holiday Down Under is far from over. Your time in New Zealand will be equally action-packed; discover geothermal wonders in Rotorua, visit adrenaline-loving Queenstown, and soak up the epic scenery of Milford Sound.

SO, WHAT WILL IT BE?

If you’ve found an Australia multi-centre holiday that’s perfect for you, the next step couldn’t be simpler. Just give our Travelbag Specialists a call, and we’ll sort the rest. Of course, there’s always the option to make whatever changes you’d like, adding on extra days or special excursions so that your holiday suits you down to the ground.

If you’re yet to find an Aussie escape that suits you, why not check out our other trips and tours? Whatever you fancy, we can help make it happen.

And, if you still need convincing, take a look at what Travelbag's Lucian Baciu had to say about his trip to Australia's Northern Territories:

"The Northern Territory of Australia offers a unique and amazing experience for travellers, with attractions such as Kakadu National Park, the 13 Gorges, the Field of Lights, and Uluru." - Lucian Baciu
