Kick start your holiday in the dazzling city of Singapore. Singapore is the ideal jumping off point on route to Australia and it's only a four hour flight from here to Darwin!
Spend three days in Darwin exploring all this tropical, waterfront city has to offer before embarking on an exciting rail journey. Board The Ghan and weave your way through the epic national parks of Australia's Top End and enjoy a cruise of Nitmiluk Gorge. Disembark in Alice Springs for a spectacular dinner under the stars at the historic Telegraph Station. Make a stop in the unique, opal mining town of Coober Pedy where half the residents live underground. Continue south and witness the landscape change from ochre reds to green fields as you pass through the impressive Flinders Ranges and arrive into Adelaide.
You’ll see old and new side-by-side on your trip to Singapore, from vibrant markets and tranquil temples, to towering skyscrapers and glittering malls. The Lion City has influences from across Asia, including India, China and Malaysia, so you can expect to find an array of architecture and cuisines. From the Supertree Grove in the Gardens by the Bay, to the shops of Orchard Road, to the theme parks and beaches of Sentosa Island, Singapore has it all.

Touch down in Darwin, and make your way to your hotel. Spend the next few days at leisure exploring all that Darwin has to offer, or simply soaking up the sunshine. While you’re here, why not pay a visit to the Royal Flying Doctors facility? Afterwards, you can cool off in the Wave and Swimming Lagoon on Darwin’s waterfront, or admire the incredible street art which has popped up all over the city. Alternatively, if you’re feeling daring, you could try a jet-ski tour of Darwin Harbour and the nearby mangroves.

Hop on board The Ghan railway in Darwin where you can relax in your cabin or mingle with fellow travellers in the Outback Explorer Lounge. Enjoy a delicious lunch ahead of your Off Train Experience in Katherine - a cruise down the incredible Nitmiluk Gorge.

Arrive into Alice Springs after breakfast, where a day of fascinating Off Train Experiences awaits. As evening falls enjoy a spectacular barbeque dinner under then stars at the historic Alice Springs Telegraph Station.

After a morning stop at Manguri, next up is the weird and wonderful opal mining township of Coober Pedy, where more than half of the residents live underground. Here, you’ll enjoy a day of discovery and lunch in the most unique of locations: underground. Dinner is served back on the train, where you can enjoy a nightcap as your journey continues.

Wake up and witness a dramatic change in landscape as the rich ochre tones of the outback make way for the green fields of South Australia. Enjoy a leisurely brunch as you pass through the majestic Flinders Ranges before your arrival into Adelaide, having completed one of the world’s great rail journeys.
