Overview

This 12-day premium China Tour combines intriguing history, authentic cuisine and astounding scenery into one incredible adventure. From the modern delights of Shanghai to the traditional treasures of Huizhou, this tour takes you on an unforgettable journey through time as you uncover some of the lesser-known parts of China. There are plenty of ‘pinch me’ moments, too - gazing out to the magnificent mountainous scenery in Yangshuo, meeting the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, experiencing bustling Beijing and visiting an original part of the Great Wall. It’s impossible not to be in awe of the sights and sounds here.

Day 1

Arrive in Shanghai

Your tour starts in Shanghai. You’ll no doubt notice the vibrant atmosphere of new China as soon as you arrive! You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. This is where you’ll first meet the other travellers and your local leader. However, if you arrive too early, how about heading out to explore this bustling city? Be careful not to miss your meeting with the group at 6pm! While exploring, you could visit the specular sculptures and glorious greenery at Yu Gardens or admire the classic skyline at The Bund. After your meeting, you’re bound to feel peckish! Not to worry, though, as it’s time to tuck into some authentic cuisine at a French mansion turned traditional restaurant. The menu includes sumptuous fried dumplings and many more of the city’s favourites.

Notice the ‘Blind Date Corner’ where parents of singles meet to find their son or daughter a partner! From here, you’ll visit one of Shanghai’s most iconic landmarks named ‘The Bund’. This is a promenade along the Huangpu River, dividing Shanghai into Puxi (the older area on the west) and Pudong (the newer area to the east).

The rest of your day is free. How about exploring the Shanghai Museum or trying out another traditional restaurant? Make the most of this spectacular city and all it has to offer.
