There’s plenty to keep you occupied in Australia’s sixth largest city! Why not rise early with the locals and catch the sunrise surf. With 70km of beaches and four infamous breakpoints to choose from, there’s no wonder this place is known as a surfer’s paradise. After your morning dip, it’s time get your adrenaline pumping, as you hit up the theme parks, and there’s tons to choose from! Whether it’s getting stuck into family fun at Dreamworld, meeting superheroes from the big screen at Warner Bros Movie World, or cooling off in the splash zone at Wet’n’Wild, there’s truly something on offer for everyone.

In the evening, there’s no better place to be than at Broadbeach - a stylish location peppered with sophisticated shops and blessed with an enviable dining scene. It’s not all about city life though, step into nature at Burleigh Heads National Park, between June and October keep your eyes peeled for whales, which can be spotted from the scenic ocean view walk.

After an action-packed start to your trip, it’s time to kick back on Hamilton Island, a tropical paradise in the heart of the Whitsundays. The Island's atmosphere is easy going and beach-focused, and it’s one of Australia’s most ‘desirable destinations’, not to mention it’s a glorious gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

The world’s largest coral reef covers 344,400 square kilometres and houses incredible dive sites and top snorkelling spots, perfect for getting up close and personal to phenomenal marine life. For a different perspective, why not take to the skies for an epic flyover the iconic Heart Reef, or if you’d rather keep your feet firmly on the ground, then spend your days lazing on the palm-lined Catseye beach.

With a wonderful four nights in Port Douglas, you can fully get to grips with Queensland’s gorgeous tropical North. This attractive seaside town comes complete with fantastic seaside restaurants, heritage pubs and the friendliest of locals, always offering a warm welcome.  There’s plenty to choose from in the way of day trips too, with treks into the Daintree Rainforest and yet more Great Barrier Reef experiences to be had. Those who like a challenge will love climbing Mossman Gorge. It’s not all hard work though, as the reward will be a dip in its refreshing rock pools.
