11 Day Denarau and Fiji Cruise

On arrival at Nadi Airport on the island of Viti Levu, you'll make the 25-minute journey to Denarau where you can check in to Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa. Stretched along a two-kilometre private beach, this luxurious resort is just a five-minute drive from Port Denarau – a stylish marina with entertainment, shopping and dining.

You’ll have two nights on Viti Levu before your cruise, so you can either relax in your resort or get out and explore. Sabeto Hot Springs are just a five-minute drive away, or you can enjoy a thrilling treetop experience at Nadi’s zip-line park. You could visit a Fiji Culture village or Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple – a brightly coloured Hindu temple in Southern Nadi.

Make your way to Port Denarau and board M.V. Fiji Princess, as you set sail for the outer Mamanuca Islands on your Escape to Paradise cruise. Your first stop is Modriki Island, which was the filming location for Tom Hanks' blockbuster ‘Cast Away’. Onboard, you can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and canapes as you watch the sunset, before heading to the Captain's Welcome Dinner for a gourmet meal and entertainment from the crew.

Overnight – Anchorage Modriki Island

Wake up and enjoy a swim or wander along the beach before breakfast, depending on sea conditions. Or you could head to a secret reef to swim with sharks. In the afternoon, you’ll sail to Soso Bay where you’ll visit the chiefly village of Soso to gain insight into modern-day Fijian island life. When evening comes around, it’s time for a traditional Thali dinner which showcases exquisite Indian dishes – and there might even be some Bollywood dancing.

Day three of your Escape to Paradise cruise is on a Sunday. In Fiji, this is a day of rest – so it’s going to be a chilled one. After breakfast, you’ll have the option to attend a village church service before sailing to the beautiful Naukacucu and Narara Islands. If you’re looking for an activity today, why not join the chef for a Fijian cooking lesson to learn how to make traditional Kokoda?

Dinner will be a buffet, featuring a range of dishes from Fiji and Europe. Afterwards, you can head to the bar for a night-cap. Or join in with Fijian-style bingo, which is a lot of fun and includes some great prizes.

Overnight – Anchorage Naukacuvu Island

Today, the Fiji Princess arrives at the Sacred Isles. You'll truly think you’re in Paradise as you take in the backdrop of the breathtaking neighbouring Waya Lailai volcanic formations. Spend your day swimming, snorkelling and relaxing. There's also a Fijian-style high tea to enjoy, or you can learn how to make delicious Roti in Lolo. Once the sun sets, there's another Captain's Dinner, as other passengers come aboard this evening for a four-night sailing. 

Overnight – Anchorage Yalobi Bay   

Sail to the famed Blue Lagoon and watch the crew anchor down at the Blue Lagoon Cruise's very own private island peninsula. Disembark and enjoy canapes and happy hour on the sandy shores, which are lapped by turquoise waters.

Tonight’s dinner is a special one, as you won't be dining on the ship. Instead, you’ll experience a traditional Lovo meal cooked underground, served among the coconut palms on the beach. You'll also be joined by local villagers who will tell Fijian stories and showcase traditional dances.

Overnight – Anchorage Blue Lagoon   

Start your morning with a gentle guided walk to visit an island-style cake shop and browse the shell market. You can also try your hand at basket weaving or, if you’re keen to get in the water, go on a guided snorkelling safari. Lunch will be served back onboard, as you sail to the Sawa-I-Lau caves for a guided tour.

Tonight, you'll experience a welcoming yaqona ceremony before enjoying a village-style feast with local villagers, as they share their culture and home with you.

Overnight – Anchorage Sawa-I-Lau Island    

As your cruise continues on to Drawaqa Island, the onboard marine biologist will share a presentation about the local marine life and conservation work carried out in the area. Today, if you’re travelling between May and October, you'll have the opportunity to snorkel with wild manta rays – a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. If your trip is between November and April, then you'll enjoy an excursion to a local island school instead, where you can see the work of the Vinaka Fiji volunteers.

As this is the last night of your cruise, you can look forward to a celebratory barbecue under the stars, as you party in Fijian style.

Overnight – Anchorage Drawaqa Island     

The Fiji Princess sails back to the main island today, where you'll disembark at Port Denarau and return to Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa for one final night. Spend the rest of the day soaking up the Fijian sun, as tomorrow your South Pacific trip comes to an end.
