SUMMER DAYS

Western-style horseback riding is the prime activity at Terra Nostra and wranglers are on hand every day for lessons and guided tours. Horses are available for all ages and abilities so there’s no reason to leave anyone back at the ranch. Out of the saddle, Clearwater Lake is perfect for canoeing and fishing all summer and wilderness trails can be enjoyed on foot or bike without spending another bean. Sightseeing flights by waterplane are easy to arrange and, if dates match up, rodeo trips are a great day out.

WINTER PLAY

Horses don’t care about the weather and riding is available all year but the winter fun doesn’t stop there. Christoph Gisler, one part of the Swiss family who own and operate the ranch, is a trained ski and telemark instructor and his expertise comes into play when the snow falls. Swap the saddle for a snowmobile and explore the trails and frozen lakes in style, or let the ranch arrange your land or air transport to backcountry snow touring routes. Feeling really adventurous? You could try heli-skiing!

Terra Nostra is built around a central Main Lodge where meals are prepared for all ranch guests. Four ensuite rooms are included within the Main Lodge while private spaces can be found in the one-bedroom Saddelcabin and the five-bedroom Barn that is perfect for large groups and families. Camping and RV visitors are also welcomed with bathroom facilities provided and meals from the lodge kitchen or outdoor grill available to campers at additional cost.

Main Lodge

Large wooden lodge with four spacious ensuite bedrooms, each holding 2-4 guests. Within the lodge is a kitchen where the ranch team will prepare daily meals. An indoor dining room, outside picnic table, and covered veranda provide a variety of spaces to enjoy.

Saddelcabin

Private and cosy accommodation for two, converted from an old ranch tack room. Tucked into the treeline, this rustic room includes a small front porch and integrated bathroom with shower.

Ideal for larger groups and families, the ranch’s converted barn offers four double and one triple bedroom with a shared bathroom. A small covered veranda completes a charming country feel.
