0203 944 2201With the weather getting warmer and the school term coming to an end, it’s prime time for trips to the airport. There’s an endless list of destinations that are amazing to visit in July. But, here at Travelbag, we like to focus on the holidays that are a bit more ‘out of the ordinary’. From Ecuador to New York, take a look at our top travel picks for July.
Hailed for its unparalleled biodiversity and jaw-dropping scenery, Ecuador is the perfect July holiday for anyone looking to nurture their adventurous side. Sandwiched between Columbia and Peru, this costal country has it all. With volcanic beaches, tropical rainforests and, of course, the mighty Andes mountains, it really is nature’s playground. You can get involved in all sorts of adrenaline activities over in Banos, from abseiling down waterfalls, to bungee jumping over the Pastaza River. Or, for the ultimate adventure, you can plan a trip to the Galápagos Islands. See penguins, sea lions, and giant tortoise, along with countless other fascinating species. And, with temperatures at this time of year sitting comfortably around the mid-twenties, there’s nothing to stop you exploring from dusk until dawn.
Fiji’s weather in July is to die for. It’s technically the country’s coolest month on the calendar. But, with maximum temperatures ranging between 25-28°C - depending on where abouts you are - it’s ideal holiday material. July is also a relatively dry time of year on the islands of Fiji. So, whilst you should always expect the odd shower here and there in south-easterly places like Suva, you’re pretty much in the clear everywhere else. If you fancy a taste of paradise, we highly recommend making tracks for the majestic Mamanuca Islands. Spend your days sipping on fresh-fruit cocktails and sunbathing on pristine, powder-fine sands. Or, if you’re in the mood for a bit of activity, you can pick up your snorkel and discover the wondrous marine life of Fiji’s deep blue.
Christmas in New York gets a lot of fuss. But, in our opinion, there’s no better time to visit the ‘Big Apple’ than July. After all, who wouldn’t want to see Central Park in the summertime? Encompassing almost 700 acres of lush, green space, it’s the perfect pairing for a hot, sunny day. You can take a leisurely stroll beneath the shaded elm trees, or rent a rowboat over at Central Park Lake. And, as the name suggests, the park’s located in the heart of New York, so you can easily carry on your day of exploring – you won’t even need to use the subway. Walk over to the bustling Times Square, before making your way to the iconic Empire State Building, where you can catch views of the sparkling city from the 86th-floor observation deck.
Covering over nine million square kilometres of diverse landscape, summarising Canada’s weather at any given time is a bit of a challenge. But, by and large, the seasons here generally reflect what we have in the UK. So, if you set off on your Canada holiday in July, you can expect warm weather and lots of cloud-free, sunny days. The temperatures may not be as hot as the other destinations on this list, but if you’re planning to explore the great outdoors, it won’t take you long to work up a sweat. Hike, bike, or kayak your way around Banff National Park, taking in the breath-taking natural beauty as you go. Alternatively, you can head over to Bruce Peninsula on Canada’s east coast for an unforgettable summer road trip.
