Two countries, one trip? Doddle.

A holiday to Australia obviously comes with its fair share of flying, which makes it a great choice for a multi-centre holiday. The flight options to Australia are almost endless. You can choose where to stop on the way, and where you want to arrive in – and leave – Down Under. With so many variations available, you can plan the perfect multi-centre holiday to Australia. Simply speak to our travel experts about your preferences, and we’ll work with you to create your dream getaway.

If you fancy combining Oz with a city break, we’d recommend a stopover in Dubai or Singapore. Both destinations offer world-class attractions, top-notch dining options, incredible theme parks, fantastic shopping, and have great beaches to boot. Plus, there’s plenty of culture and tradition interspersed between all the glitz and glamour.

If you want a taste of Asia and more beach time, why not throw Bali into the mix? Australia and Bali have lots in common, with white-sand beaches, a big focus on sustainability and a flair for culinary inventiveness. From Bali it’s only a three-and-a-half-hour flight to Perth and less than six hours to Sydney, making this a great option for your Australia multi-centre holiday.

Another dream combination is to combine Australia and New Zealand in one trip. Both destinations offer so much but, if you have a few weeks or more, you would certainly be able to tick off the major highlights and get a feel for both countries. How about exploring the cities, beaches and reefs on Australia’s east coast, before hopping over to New Zealand for a campervan adventure on the South Island? If you really want to push the boat out you could even add on a Pacific Island – Fiji, anyone?

And let’s not forget that vast Australia is practically a whole continent – so you can, of course, have a multi-centre holiday within the very same country. Perth is now accessible by a direct flight from London, meaning you can easily start your trip on the west coast before exploring the rest of the country. Perth has flight connections to all of Australia’s major cities meaning a Perth, Rock and Reef combo is easy peasy.

Pacific Island Paradise

Sydney, Rock and Reef

Australia is so vast that you can enjoy a multi-centre holiday within its borders – and we’d definitely recommend visiting two, if not three, states on your visit. The classic combination of Sydney, Rock and Reef is an oldie but a goodie. Sydney makes the perfect starting point for your adventure. With iconic landmarks, a top dining scene and epic beaches – plus easy day trips available to the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley – you’ll never be short of things to do.

Meanwhile, the Red Centre offers extraordinary desert plains, weathered mountain ranges, rocky gorges and some of Australia's most sacred Aboriginal sites. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is home to the famed Ayers Rock. One of the most magical experiences you can have in Oz is to dine under the stars, in the shadow of spiritual Uluru.

A trip to Australia wouldn’t be complete without seeing the Great Barrier Reef. Spanning 1,400 miles, it’s the largest coral reef system in the world and you can swim, snorkel, dive and sail this living masterpiece. Cairns, Port Douglas and the Whitsundays are all great gateways from which to explore the reef and soak up the endless Aussie sunshine.

Asia

More than half way between the UK and Down Under, Asia is a great jumping off point on your Australia multi-centre holiday. The options are almost endless. How about a stop in Singapore? The multicultural Lion City has influences from India, China and Malaysia, along with eye-popping attractions and a wonderful dining scene, as hawker centres compete with Michelin-starred restaurants.

Bali is also a great option. From its miles of white-sand beaches to its lush rice paddies, this Indonesian island is incredibly diverse. You can expect a world-class food and wellness scene, alongside an engaging native culture.

Neighbouring New Zealand

One of Australia’s closest neighbours is New Zealand, and both countries complement each other perfectly for a multi-centre holiday. Get your fix of sun and sea in Oz, where you can swim with whale sharks, snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef or sail around the Whitsundays. Then head to New Zealand and marvel at the lush green landscapes, mountain ranges, glaciers, geysers and lakes – and their own epic beaches, too.

Pacific Islands

Australia has more than its fair share of glorious, white-sand beaches. But if you never tire of a good beach – especially when a pool and a cocktail is never too far away – a multi-centre holiday to Australia and a Pacific Island could be the perfect option for you.

Just a four-hour flight from Sydney, Fiji lies in the heart of the South Pacific. Made up of 333 islands, this idyllic place has pristine beaches, smiling locals and coral reefs to rival that of Australia. You don’t even need to leave the mainland to find five-star resorts, overwater bungalows and palm-lined beaches – but if you want to go further afield, the Mamanuca Islands and Yasawa Islands are paradise personified. Easily accessible by boat, seaplane or helicopter transfer, these islands are home to dramatic volcanic peaks, sun-drenched beaches, thriving reefs and tranquil lagoons.
