The Middle East is flanked by a number of sun-drenched coastlines. Dubai has some of the most enviable stretches of sand in the region, with beaches that stretch into the Arabian Gulf. And there are tons of activities available all year round, such as kitesurfing, jet-skiing and parasailing. Stroll along the sands of Palm Jumeirah, then grab brunch at one of the nearby restaurants.

Or, if you’re looking for a beach to yourself, check out Oman. This place has more than 2,000 kilometres of coastline, plenty of marine life, and a beautifully warm climate. Surrounded by the Gulf of Oman and jagged mountains, the tropical sands are the perfect place to relax.

Elsewhere, Jordan is famous for its historical treasures – but it’s also brushed by the Red and Dead Seas. Our Middle Eastern tours include a trip to the coastal city of Aqaba, where you can get up close and personal with its colourful marine life. And you can swim in the remarkable Dead Sea. With its age-old temples and monolithic mosques, there’s a spiritual air about the Middle East. It’s also the birthplace of some of the world’s oldest civilisations, so no tour is complete without visiting some of its most impressive landmarks.

Known for its forts, Oman is home to Bahla – a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 12 kilometres of ruined walls. While you’re there, spend a few nights in the historic city of Muscat, where you can learn more about its fascinating seafaring past.

And we can’t forget the rose-hued city of Petra, an awe-inspiring site that’s been named as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Carved into the mountains of Jordan, this UNESCO-protected city dates back nearly 3,000 years. And Jordan’s buzzing capital, Amman, is equally as historic. Most of our Middle East tours include a day trip here, so you can wander among Roman ruins, a 6,000-seat amphitheatre, and feel the city’s pulse as it comes alive at night.

In contrast to the Dubai skyline and the bustling souks of Amman, there’s peace to be found in the swathes of desert. From sand dune safaris just outside of Dubai, to the towering dunes of Wahiba Sands of Oman, you can discover this one-of-a-kind landscape during your tour.

And if you’re looking for luscious green pockets amongst the desert, a stop in Oman is a must. The beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid combines a tropical oasis of streams, interesting geology and greenery.

For a tour that’s truly out of this world, take a trip to Wadi Rum in Jordan. You might recognise these rust-coloured sand dunes from multiple blockbuster movies. You can relive the scenes of Lawrence of Arabia and The Martian as you take a 4x4 drive across this vast desert expanse.
