Day 1: Arrive in Salt Lake City
Arrive in Salt Lake City where you will make your way to your hotel and spend some time in the afternoon to venture out into the city or simply relax. At 6:00pm you can meet your travel companions for a kick-off party in the hotel.
Day 2: Salt Lake City - Jackson
Begin your adventure today by heading north to Wyoming to meet the Rocky Mountains. Make a stop at the Oregon Trail Centre in Jackson for lunch and an insight into the challenges of the Old Trail. Continue on along the Oregon Trail to the town of Jackson. Take a step back in time as you pass beneath the landmark archway of tangled elk antlers and discover Town Square, filled with Western boutiques, ice cream shops, and boardwalks. In the evening you can sit and enjoy a Chuckwagon dinner and show.

Day 3: Jackson – Yellowstone National Parks
Take an optional early morning float trip down the Snake River for a thrilling educational voyage. Afterwards, explore the dramatic Grand Teton National Park and serene Jenny Lake before continuing on into the world’s first National Park, Yellowstone. Housing a grand 10,000 geysers, fumaroles, mud pots, hot springs and steam vents, including the legendary Old Faithful, the spectacular Yellowstone is a natural wonderland.  Learn all about Yellowstone at the visitor centre, with kids earning a Junior Ranger badge.Take a stroll with a guide along the boardwalks of the West Thumb Geyser Basin, seeing the Abyss Pool, Fishing Cone, and Thumb Paint Pots along the way.

Day 4: Yellowstone National Park
Discover the cascading Yellowstone Falls today as you traverse the park, come across the gushing geysers, simmering thermal springs, erratic steam vents, and bubbling mud pools. The sights are just as spectacular as the sounds with a natural cacophony of noises coming from each turn throughout the park.

Day 5: Yellowstone National Park - Cody
Descend into the Shoshone Canyon and the rough Absaroka Mountains today on to the Wild West town of Cody, named after the legendary Buffalo Bill Cody. Discover the Buffalo Bill Centre of the West and the world’s largest collection of Western relics. The evening sees you all dressed up in traditional Western clothing for a rodeo.

Day 6: Cody – Clearmont
Cross over the Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest on a scenic trip this morning, arriving at the Ranch at Ucross in Clearmont, an old Wild West style working ranch in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains. Learn all about the lifestyle on the ranch after lunch, and watch a horse being saddled followed by a riding demonstration. Get hands-on as you brand a dummy-cow before relaxing at a cowboy style ranch dinner. The day ends under the open sky with a roaring fire.

Day 7: Clearmont - Keystone
Enjoy breakfast before experiencing more of the ranch-life activities. Learn about life on the ranch from true wranglers, ride on horseback around the ranchlands, go fishing in Piney Creek for brown and rainbow trout, or try your hand at a game of horseshoes. Alternatively, kick back and relax poolside while you marvel at the scenic resort. Head east after lunch through the grassland to the city of Keystone.

Day 8: Keystone - Black Hills Excursion
In the morning you will have the opportunity to visit Bear Country USA, a wildlife park that houses the world’s largest private collection of American black bears. Walk through the Wildlife Centre, filled with smaller fauna in the outdoor exhibits. The Black Hills of South Dakota are the next destination. See the immense carving of the Crazy Horse Memorial from Thunderhead Mountain in dedication to the war chief of the Lakota people. Reach the charming Keystone, dubbed “The City of Gold” due to the gold mining boom. Visit the iconic president heads of Mount Rushmore in all their majestic glory. In the evening you will be treated to a Farewell Dinner with your travel companions while being entertained by an American Indian dancer.

Day 9: Keystone – Fort Laramie – Depart Denver
Journey along the trail to Fort Laramie, the most renowned milepost on the Oregon Trail. Learn about the tough challenges for the pioneers to reach Oregon, and the native tribes that tried to prevent it, at the forts living history exhibits. On arrival in the Mile High city of Denver your tour comes to an end, depart at Denver airport for your return flight home.
