Day 1: Arrive in San Francisco
Arrive in San Francisco and make your way to your hotel. Once you have checked in you are free to explore your surroundings, perhaps visit Pier 39, a marketplace filled with shops, street performers, and resident sea lions. Gather at the hotel for 6:00pm with your fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception.
Day 2: San Francisco
Take a tour of the “City by the Bay” today by first exploring the renowned Fishermans Wharf all the way to Union Square. The afternoon sees you paving your own way through the city before taking a guided tour of cultural Chinatown, the oldest in the United States. Try the famous local fortune cookies before enjoying a Chinese banquet Highlight Dinner at a restaurant.

Day 3: San Francisco – Napa Valley - Sonoma
Your adventure continues among the vineyards and flora of the Napa Valley. Check in at your hotel before riding aboard the historical Napa Valley Wine Train. Progress along the sunbathed valley and indulge in a Highlight Lunch and wine tasting followed by free time in Sonoma Square.

Day 4: Napa Valley – Sacramento – Lake Tahoe
Start early for an optional hot air balloon ride to view the splendour of the Napa Valley from above. Visit the California State Railroad Museum, filled with restored locomotives and cars as well as informative exhibits. Travel from the lush Sacramento River Valley to the beauty and clear waters of picturesque Lake Tahoe. In season, take a gondola ride for unique views of the shimmering lake and majestic mountains. Enjoy an optional sunset dinner cruise on the lake for an intimate and unforgettable experience.

Day 5: Lake Tahoe – Mono Lake – Yosemite National Park
Immerse yourself for an unparalleled experience of Mono Lake. The limestone formations that fill the area are known as “tufa towers” were once part of a great inland lake that covered most of Nevada and Utah. Mono Lake is currently a pit stop for migrating birds as they journey to tropical seas. Tioga Pass is often covered in snow and serves as the gateway to famous Yosemite National Park. Descend from the Sierra Nevada Mountains into the Yosemite Valley, passing the misty brilliance of Bridal Veil and grand waters of Yosemite Falls as well as the walls of El Capitan and Half Dome.

Day 6: Yosemite National Park – Salinas Valley – Carmel - Monterey
Journey west today into Salinas Valley and embark on an educational tour to learn about fruit and vegetable production of the region. After driving along the scenic 17-Mile Drive past the iconic Lone Cypress Tree and Pebble Beach Golf Links, explore the shops and cafes of the charming village of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Travel north to Monterey for a Be My Guest experience as your hosts share their knowledge of food with you this evening as you dine on the local ingredients and fresh produce in a meal you will help in creating.

Day 7: Monterey & Big Sur
The California coast is on show today as you venture to Big Sur. The natural wonders of Big Sur are simply awe-inspiring, with the hidden coves, pristine beaches, towering redwoods and abundant marine life filling the waters for you to see. Return to Monterey and tour Cannery Row before spending free time at Fishermans Wharf, lined with eateries, shops, and a bustling street life, or take an optional tour of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Spend the evening with your fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner and festive wine pairing,

Day 8: Monterey – Roaring Camp - Depart San Francisco
Step back in time to the era of sawmills and lumberjacks in the re-created Roaring Camp, featuring a general store and railroad depot. Continue on to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park to see some of the largest living trees on earth. Return finally to the city of San Francisco where you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
