Arrive into San Francisco airport before being transferred to your hotel ahead of a welcome reception and dinner on your first night. The following day, you’ll have opportunity to explore some of the sights around the city, including the shopping plaza around Union Square and the Victorian homes at Golden Gate Park, while you can also take a ride on the famous cable car system. After a free afternoon to investigate further you’ll then be taken on a walking tour through Chinatown before an authentic Chinese banquet at the end of the day.
Head north from San Francisco to Napa Valley, one of the top wine regions anywhere in the world and home to hundreds of different wineries. Arriving in Napa, you’ll hop onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train to enjoy a relaxing ride in luxurious surroundings through the stunning landscape of the many vineyards before a tour and tasting session at a local winery. Following your journey, you’ll have the chance to drive along the Carneros Highway to visit the shops within the historic plaza in nearby Sonoma before an evening at leisure.
Today you’ll head across California’s Gold Country into the Sierra Nevada Mountains before arriving in Yosemite National Park. Once there, you’ll be able to explore the spectacular waterfalls, rock formations and wildlife to be found on the valley floor before heading for your hotel close to the stunning Yosemite Falls; the highest in North America as nearly 2,500 feet.
Following the opportunity to take a walk to the Falls, or to simply sit back and enjoy your peaceful surroundings, you’ll head off through the San Joaquin Valley towards the coast for a brief visit to the Carmel-by-the-Sea; a town famed for its stunning natural scenery and also for a rich artistic history, which you’ll explore as you browse the various galleries on Ocean Avenue. You’ll then head for Monterey where the day will end with a talk and private dinner at the local aquarium where you can also spend time exploring the various exhibits.
Travel south along the coast to the town of San Simeon, where you’ll head for ‘The Enchanted Hill’ to take a tour of Hearst Castle, the former home of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst which is now one of the main attractions in the area. You’ll then continue through the vineyards to Santa Barbara, where you can dine at a restaurant of your choice from a selection of local offerings.
Your day will start with a trip to the Spanish mission founded in the 1780s before learning about the chain of 21 missions that can be found along the El Camino Real, or The Royal Road. You’ll then travel along Santa Monica Bay, taking in stunning coastal views as you travel through Malibu en-route to Santa Monica itself; where you will spend time visiting the J. Paul Getty Museum and taking a walk along Third Street Promenade. After a highlight dinner and a night in a luxurious hotel at the LA Live entertainment complex, the following day will see you take part in a sightseeing tour that includes the opportunity to see the iconic Hollywood Sign and to take a stroll along the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame before a private tour of the Dolby Theatre; home to the annual Academy Awards.
Leaving the glitz and glamour of Hollywood behind, you’ll head out through the wilderness of the Mojave Desert towards Phoenix, with your night being spent in a resort in neighbouring Scottsdale.
Travel north from Scottsdale to Sedona where there will be chance to browse the local shops and galleries, or to take in an optional jeep excursion at your own expense. You’ll then continue your journey through the Oak Creek Canyon to the Grand Canyon National Park, where a local guide will be on hand to tell you everything you need to know about the huge canyon carved by the Colorado River over millions of years. You’ll have chance to see the sun set from inside the park, where you will spend the night taking in the beauty of your surroundings once the main tourist crowds have departed. Dinner will be served with stunning views over the South Rim.
Early risers will have the chance to watch the sun come up over the canyon, while the more adventurous could invest in an optional flightseeing tour over the vast natural landmark; which is up to 18 miles wide and over a mile deep in places. You’ll then depart towards the historic Cameron Trading Post and the Painted Desert before arriving at your resort close to Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam. A cruise on the lake brings the day to a close before the following day is spent at leisure, giving you the opportunity to relax in the resort or to join a complimentary excursion to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.

After an early morning optional float trip along the Colorado River, your journey will take you on to the Bryce Canyon National Park where you will have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking views that are afforded by a visit to Sunset Point – allowing you to look down over the canyon and the huge monoliths below. Following time at leisure, your day will then end with a celebration dinner.
Head for the Zion National Park where you will be taken on a private excursion to see the scenic highlights before time to explore at leisure. Then you’ll head for the bright lights of Las Vegas to spend the night at one of the most luxurious hotels on the famed Las Vegas Strip.
Head for Las Vegas International Airport for your return flight home.
