Day 1: Arrive in Atlanta
Arrive in Atlanta Airport and make your way to the hotel to meet your tour director.

Day 2: Atlanta
Take a tour today of Atlanta, an important southern city during the Civil War. After being burned down in 1864 by General Sherman, the city was rebuilt ant today is an eclectic hub for both culture and business. Learn all about Margaret Mitchell, publisher of the renowned book “Gone with the Wind” which depicted the life of the daughter of a plantation owner through the civil War and aftermath. Spend the morning visiting the Road to Tara Museum and Stately Oaks Plantation in Jonesboro, which served as the inspiration for Tara. You will have the opportunity to see memorabilia and props from the movie including costumes worn by the stars Vivien Leigh and Clarke Gable. Enjoy a welcome reception in the evening to meet and greet your fellow travellers.

Day 3: Atlanta - Augusta - Charleston
Head west today for Augusta, the second oldest city in Georgia, and home to the esteemed Masters Golf Tournament. Walk the cobblestone streets and paths lined with intricate architecture before spending the evening as you please, perhaps aboard an optional romantic sunset cruise or carriage ride.

Day 4: Charleston - Savannah
Today you will get to wander around the preserved historic district of Charleston on a locally guided tour. Spend the afternoon at leisure, uncovering the relentless area which has survived a number of wars and natural disasters yet still stands proud as a gem of the south. Take an optional excursion to Boone Hall Plantation to see its renowned Avenue of Oaks which has appeared in several movies. En route to Savannah, route stop on Port Royal Island and see Beaufort, South Carolina's second oldest city. Its impressive Antebellum architecture has been backdrop for many shows and films. including "Forrest Gump

Day 5: Savannah
Enjoy a full day visiting Savannah, a once great cotton kingdom, filled with preserved century old buildings. The shops and restaurants that line the river were once cotton warehouses which gives the area a distinct flair.

Day 6: Savannah - Montgomery
Set course west across the state of Georgia and into the heart of the Deep South, Alabama. Upon arrival in Montgomery, Alabama's capital city and a central backdrop of the American Civil Rights Movement, visit the Rosa Parks Library and Museum. Learn about the Montgomery Bus Boycott inspired by Parks, which ignited the Civil Rights movement and changed American history. You may also wish to visit the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, where Martin Luther King Jr. led the Boycott with his powerful sermons..

Day 7: Montgomery - Selma - New Orleans
Depart Montgomery this morning to discover Selma, Alabama, another centerpiece of the Civil Rights Movement. Visit the Edmund Pettis Bridge where the historic March from Selma to Montgomery began and where the brutal events of Bloody Sunday took place. Experience another historic site of the Civil Rights Trail, the Brown Chapel AME Church before heading south through Mississippi to New Orleans, a city immersed in Creole culture. The city today is a unique blend of Spanish, French, Caribbean, African and Anglo-Saxon influences. This is obvious in the food, architecture and of course, the music. Experience this melting pot aboard a Riverboat Dinner Cruise (optional) and enjoy the rhythms of a Dixieland jazz band..

Day 8: New Orleans
Indulge in the sights, sounds and tastes of New Orleans as you traverse the city alone. The morning offers an optional tour to a renowned Louisiana Plantation, or you can simply stroll along the cobblestone streets of the French Quarter.

Day 9: New Orleans - Baton Rouge - Natchez
Travel next to the capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, for a city tour. Continue on to Natchez via the Natchez Trace Parkway, a 444 mile long scenic drive through Native American history. Visit one of the local Untebellum homes to learn all about the 19th Century millionaires.

Day 10: Natchez - Memphis
Depart Natchez and on to Memphis, a large river port that was once a significant link in the Civil War cotton trade. Tour the city’s lively Beale Street, filled with blues clubs, before seeing the historic Front Street, a once popular cotton trader and merchant hub. Take an optional visit to Graceland, the home of the King of Rock, Elvis Presley.

Day 11: Memphis - Nashville
Nashville is the next destination, the city of country music, earning its title with the airing of the WSM Barn Dance radio program, the forerunner of the Grand Ole Opry. See the Ryman Auditorium, the studios near Music Row, and Opryland, all testaments to the cities country music title.

Day 12: Nashville
Begin your day in this dynamic and thriving cultural and state capital of Tennessee with a morning city tour. While exploring the city's landmarks, perhaps you'll discover a new country music classic before they even hit the charts while visiting one of the many recording studios around town. Perhaps enjoy dinner and a show in the evening as a optional excursion.

Day 13 Nashville - Chattanooga - Atlanta
Leaving Music City, we head to Chattanooga, home to the famous Choo Choo and which has received national recognition for the renaissance of its beautiful downtown and redevelopment of its riverfront. In the afternoon, our trails lead us back to Atlanta where you may want to check our one of the sites you were not able to experience at the start of the tour like the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, CNN Center.
