Day 1: Arrive in New York City
Arrive in New York City and make your way to your hotel before discovering the highlights of the city for yourself. Enjoy a harbour cruise Welcome Reception at 5:30pm with your fellow travellers and tour director aboard a boat as you see the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty.
Day 2: New York – Philadelphia – Washington D.C
Begin your day with an orientation tour of the city. View the lofty Empire State Building, the bustling Times Square and the refreshing Central Park. Travel on to Philadelphia for a walk through the “City of Brotherly Love” where you can see the iconic Liberty Bell and Independence Hall before continuing on to Washington D.C For an enjoyable dinner.

Day 3: Washington D.C
Take in the proud heritage of a nation as you traverse the streets of Washington D.C, seeing highlight landmarks such as the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II and Vietnam War memorials with a Local Expert. Visit Arlington National Cemetery and learn about the heroes at rest, then spend the rest of your day on your own, visiting the galleries or museums of the Smithsonian.

Day 4: Washington D.C – Amish Country
Take a step back into the past along the rural back roads of Pennsylvania, learning all about the simple traditions and lifestyles of the local Amish communities. Spend the night with a hearty meal.

Day 5: Amish Country – Niagara Falls
Leave the county of Lancaster, travelling across Pennsylvania to the eastern corner of New York. Stop at the Corning Museum of Glass, where centuries of both antique and contemporary glassware are on display. Marvel at the beautiful sculptures and learn about the amazing discoveries from their scientific research department. Afterwards, cross over into Canada to the majestic Niagara Falls.

Day 6: Niagara Falls
After indulging in the panoramic vistas and thunderous roar of the falls, set out on a thrilling boat ride to the base of astounding Horseshoe Falls. Enjoy some free time to explore on your own before travelling on to the charming community of Niagara-on-the-Lake. This evening, visit a family-owned winery for a private tour and tasting of their renowned wines, including ice wine, a speciality to the region and a drink that can only be produced in a few other areas of the world. Later, relax at a Be My Guest dinner with rural views of the splendid vineyard.

Day 7: Niagara Falls - Toronto
Set foot on the shores of the Great Lake Ontario and eclectic Toronto today, setting out for an orientation tour of the city. There is time to explore on your own this afternoon or embark on an optional tour of the CN Tower.

Day 8: Toronto - Ottawa
Ottawa is your next destination, the stately capital of Canada. Take an introductory tour of the city, covering landmarks such as Rideau Hall, Parliament Hill, and the various galleries and museums that fill the downtown area.

Journey to the heart of the French Canadian territory to Montreal today before enjoying a restaurant dinner in charming Old Montreal.

Day 10: Montreal – Quebec City
Visit the gothic designs of the Notre Dame Basilica, the vibrant port area and Place Jacques-Cartier, heart of the old city. See the panoramic vistas from Mount Royal before winding along the St. Lawrence River to the fortified walls of Quebec City.

Day 11: Quebec City
Traverse the historic streets of the walled Quebec City with a local expert. Learn of the city’s English and French military background at the Citadel and the Plains of Abraham. The afternoon gives you the option of visiting a gallery, relaxing at a cafe, or taking a carriage ride through the cobblestone streets.

Day 12: Quebec City - Boston
Depart from the birthplace of French Canada and cross back over into the United States. Travel across New Hampshire on your way to Franconia Notch in the centre of the White Mountains. As you make your way through forests of white birch and sugar maples, watch for the abundant forest wildlife in the area before arriving in historical Boston.

Get to grips with the rich history of Boston found in its very streets and buildings, from the Boston Harbour to the Old North Church, and all along the Freedom Trail. Explore further in the afternoon as you wish, perhaps visit the bar that inspired the TV show Cheers or explore the lush public gardens. Spend the evening with your travel companions for a final Farewell Dinner.

Day 14: Boston – Newport – Depart New York City
The seaside town of Newport features a number of mesmerizingly beautiful architectural landmarks and once served as the summer home for the Vanderbilts, Carnegies and Astors. Head back to New York after seeing the mansions of Ocean Drive, and transfer to JFK airport for your return flight home.
