Our USA escorted tours allow you to explore a specific region of the country, such as the North East, East Coast, Deep South or West Coast. You could even chose a specific state to explore. Our week-long California Dreaming tour, for instance, begins in Los Angeles and ticks off world-famous places like Yosemite National Park, Sacramento, Death Valley and Las Vegas. And the tour wraps up in scenic San Francisco, where you could stay for a few extra days, if you wished.

Some of our escorted tours also cross the border, so you can discover the delights of Canada, too. If you opt for our Eastern Discovery tour, you’ll be able to explore some fantastic American cities – including Boston, New York and Washington DC – alongside Quebec, Montreal and Toronto, plus the incredible Niagara Falls. It’s a wonderful 12-day tour – and you can easily add on a stay in the Big Apple afterwards.

After some sightseeing in New York, your tour continues on to Philadelphia and Washington DC, where you’ll be able to admire famous landmarks like the White House, US Capitol Building and the Lincoln Memorial. Your journey then continues north to Niagara Falls, Detroit and Chicago, where you can marvel at Lake Michigan.

Next, it’s time to see some of the USA’s stunning natural wonders. You’ll visit Badlands National Park, then the incredible Yellowstone National Park – which is home to bears, coyotes, elk and moose – and Bryce Canyon. And to top it all off, you’ll also tick off the enormous Grand Canyon. In the final week of this incredible trip, you’ll spend time in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco, so you can marvel at postcard-worthy landmarks like the Hollywood Sign and the Golden Gate Bridge.

If you’re keen to discover some of America’s natural wonders, the states of Alaska and Hawaii should be on your list. And when you book one of our USA escorted tours, you won’t need to worry about any of the logistics – you can simply sit back and marvel at dramatic fjords and luscious scenery.

In Alaska, for instance, you can travel to jaw-dropping attractions like Kenai Fjords National Park and Denali National Park & Preserve. The former boasts incredible glaciers, pretty islands and coastal fjords, while the latter covers an incredible six million acres, including the highest peak in the whole of North America.

Tropical Hawaii, by contrast, is all about lush volcanic landscapes and dreamy beaches. On an escorted tour, you can go island-hopping between the Big Island – also called ‘Hawaii’ – and smaller isles like Oahu, Maui and Kauai, where you’ll be amazed by the rich greenery and steaming volcanoes.

The best time for your USA touring holiday very much depends on where you want to go and what you want to do. This country is so vast that each state’s climate is different. Generally speaking, though, temperatures in spring and autumn are fresh and pleasant. Spring is a fantastic time to visit the West Coast, as you’ll be able to explore all the cities and beaches before the summer heat arrives. Meanwhile, USA escorted tours to the East Coast are best enjoyed in autumn, as you’ll be able to see New England’s fiery foliage.

Alternatively, for something a little different, consider planning your trip for winter. In November, you’ll be able to see the US gearing up for Thanksgiving, while December gives you the opportunity to see the whole country decked with festive decorations. Depending on where you go, you might even see some snow.

While you might be tempted to visit the USA in summer, it’s worth noting that it can get very hot and humid, especially in the South. Even large coastal cities – like NYC and Los Angeles – can be stifling in summer, so it’s not a great time of year for sightseeing.
