8 Day Eastern Canada Journey

On arrival in Toronto, you'll transfer independently transfer to your Downtown hotel and check in with your Tour Director. The remainder of the day is yours to spend however you wish, as you explore the landmarks and hotspots of Toronto. Discover the city's colourful neighbourhoods, go up to the top of the CN Tower, wander through the markets, and indulge in delicious food at one of the city's many restaurants.

Join your fellow travellers at breakfast, then set out to discover the top sites of Canada’s most cosmopolitan city. You'll see the provincial parliament buildings, the waterfront and lively Chinatown, before heading to the Niagara Peninsula. You'll pass through towns and vineyards along the shores of Lake Ontario, as you make your way to the incredible Niagara Falls. Spend time viewing the majestic falls from dry land or, if you fancy it, join a boat trip to get up close to the torrent of water. Your group will later return to Toronto for another night in the city. 

It's time to leave the Toronto skyline behind as the coach heads east to Ottawa. You'll wind through rolling farmland, and skirt along the rivers and lakes of the Rideau Waterway. On arrival in Ottawa, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the nation's capital, where you can see the government buildings on Parliament Hill, Byward Market and City Hall. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore this charming city further.

Travel along the scenic Ottawa River and into the French-speaking province of Quebec. The coach weaves around the Laurentians and follows the Chemin du Roy Highway, through rustic villages and historic shrines. Your final destination for today is Quebec City. You can tour this cultural heartland, taking in the ornate gates, Lower Town, the citadel, and Battlefields Park.

Today is yours to spend however you like, so you can further explore this cultural gem. Prefer to join an organised tour? You can enjoy a full-day excursion to Tadoussac, which includes a three-hour whale-watching trip at the mouth of the Saguenay River. On your way back to the city, you'll visit the spectacular Montmorency Falls. This stunning waterfall is 30 metres higher than Niagara Falls, and has an incredible water flow of around 35,000 litres per second.

Say goodbye to Quebec City and hit the open road towards Montreal. You'll follow the St Lawrence River, in the footsteps of Canada's early settlers. Dynamic Montreal is the second-largest French-speaking city in the world, and encapsulates the founding two cultures of Canada. You can tour the downtown area, view the Olympic Complex, discover Mont Royal, and be charmed by Old Montreal.

On the penultimate day of your tour, your coach heads back to Toronto. On the way, you'll stop at Rockport for an entertaining and relaxing cruise through the archipelago of the Thousand Islands. Once you're back in Toronto, the rest of the afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure.  

Make the most of your last few hours in Toronto and see the sites you missed earlier in your trip. Then it's time to transfer independently to the airport and say farewell to Canada.
