Day 1: Arrive Auckland
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel. The rest of today is at leisure in beautiful Auckland.

Day 2: Auckland - Bay of Islands
Travel north to the Waipoua Kauri Forest Reserve where you’ll view the giant Kauri tree Tane Mahuta - ‘Lord of the Forest’. Continue to the Bay of Islands, the birthplace of the nation and crammed with New Zealand history, for a two-night stay.

Day 3: Bay of Islands

Day 4: Bay of Islands - Auckland
Explore New Zealand’s finest national maritime park on a dolphin-watching cruise to Cape Brett and sail through the Hole in the Rock. This afternoon, return to Auckland.

Day 5: Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua
Leaving Auckland, travel to the famous Waitomo Caves to experience a guided tour of the underground limestone caverns, lit by thousands of tiny glow-worms. This afternoon arrive in Rotorua where you can relax before immersing yourself in Maori culture at tonight’s Hangi feast and performance of song and dance.

Day 6: Rotorua

Day 7: Rotorua - Taupo - Wellington
Depart Rotorua this morning and travel via Wairakei Steam Valley to Lake Taupo and thundering Huka Falls. Continue across the vast volcanic plateau of the World Heritage Tongariro National Park to Wellington and an arrival visit to the Museum of New Zealand – Te Papa.

Day 8: Wellington - Cook Strait - Kaikoura - Canterbury
Today, cruise across Cook Strait through the breathtaking Marlborough and Queen Charlotte sounds to Picton and then along the spectacular Pacific Ocean drive to Kaikoura, nestled at the foot of majestic mountains. Your overnight stay is in the magical mid-Canterbury region.

Day 9: Canterbury - Greymouth - Fox Glacier

Day 12: Queenstown - Milford Sound - Te Anau
Today's route follows the Remarkables mountain range to Fiordland National Park and then journeys along the Milford Road, renowned as one of the world’s best alpine drives, to Milford Sound. Board your boat for a cruise along the full length of the beautiful fjord in this World Heritage-listed area.

Day 13: Te Anau - Dunedin
