Enjoy the opportunity to discover some of the highlights of Thailand on a ten day journey that starts in the bustling city of Bangkok before heading further afield. After a cruise along the Chao Phraya River and an all action trip through the busy city streets in a tuk-tuk, you’ll then travel through the Thai countryside to visit the famous Bridge over the River Kwai before a ride on the Death Railway. Admiring the scenic sites of the Sai Yok Yai Waterfall and the World Heritage listed ruins of the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, you’ll ultimately end up in the city of Chiang Mai where your exploration of Thai life will draw to a close.

Day 1: Arrive Bangkok
On arrival in Bangkok, you’ll head for your hotel where you’ll get to enjoy welcome drinks on the first evening of your trip.

Day 2: Bangkok
After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head out onto the Chao Phraya River for a boat ride that will allow you to sample a more traditional side of life in the bustling city. Having disembarked at Tha Chang Pier, there will be chance to marvel at the stunning Grand Palace before exploring the delights of Chinatown in the afternoon. After a ride by tuk-tuk around the streets, you’ll have free time to experience some of the best shopping in Bangkok and also to sample some top class Thai cuisine.

Day 3: Bangkok - Kanchanaburi
Leaving Bangkok behind, you’ll start the journey South towards Kanchanaburi, stopping off at Samut Songkhram in the Mae Klong River Delta area to pay a visit to a local country market. Arriving in Kanchanaburi, home to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, you’ll visit the local war cemetery, the JEATH War Museum and railway museum before sitting down for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll take a ride along the infamous 'Death Railway' through Kwai Noi gorge before heading back to your hotel.

Day 4: Kanchanaburi
After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll hit the road to pay a visit to the Hellfire Pass Museum before embarking on a trek through the nearby canyon, where an audio guide will provide first hand experiences of the POWs who worked on the railway line that once ran through the area. From there, it’s onwards to the stunning Sai Yok Yai Waterfall before heading back to your hotel for some time at leisure.

Days 5-7: Ayutthaya – Sukhothai
Leaving Kanchanaburi behind, you’ll head through rural Thailand to the former capital Ayutthaya, stopping off en-route to visit the former royal residence at Bang Pa-In. On arrival, you’ll be able to marvel at the ruins of the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Mahathat, before exploring the interesting folk museum in Phitsanulok. Heading for Sukhothai, you’ll have ample opportunity to explore, and will also visit a local eco-farm.

Days 8-10: Sukhothai - Chiang Mai
Discover the temples at Sai Satchanalai and Lampang before arriving in Chiang Mai. With time to spend exploring the city before you head for home, you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the Old City and have chance to visit the local markets before taking in stunning views from the Doi Suthep temple; where you’ll also get an insight into Buddhism with a local monk. A hands-on cooking course is sure to be one of the highlights of your trip, with free time to do your own thing on your final day before you depart for the airport.
