Day 1: Arrive Vientiane
Arrive in Vientiane where a guide will meet you for your transfer to the hotel where you will spend the night. Once you’ve had chance to check-in, you’ll then head out onto a city tour during the afternoon, including a visit to the impressive Patuxay Monument – the Laos version of France’s Arc de Triomphe. Having had the opportunity to take in panoramic views from the summit, you’ll then head for the holiest site in the country with a visit to the 16th century That Luang temple.
  • First Class: Mandala Boutique
  • Superior: Ansara
Day 2: Vientiane city tour
After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head out on a guided tour of the city; which is widely regarded as one of the quietest capitals anywhere in the world. The trip begins with a visit to the Wat Sisaket temple, which was the only one in the city to be left intact after the invasion of the Siamese back in 1828. From there, it’s on to the religious museum at Wat Phra Keo and the popular Wat Simuang temple before a visit to COPE; an association that works to help victims of landmines. Once the tour is complete, the remainder of the day is yours at leisure to explore the city further.
  • First Class: Mandala Boutique (B)
  • Superior: Ansara (B)
Day 3: Vientiane – Luang Prabang
After a leisurely morning, you’ll be taken to the airport to board a flight that will take you to Luang Prabang, where you’ll then check-in to your hotel. You’ll then have time to wander the streets of a city known as the spiritual capital of Laos before the day ends with a climb up the 328 steps that lead to the top of Mount Phousi. Here, you’ll enjoy fine views of the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers and the opportunity to marvel at a spectacular sunset. Afterward, you’ll head for the main street of the city to visit the Night Market in search of souvenirs.
  • First Class: Maison Dalabua (B)

Day 4: Luang Prabang city tour
Following breakfast, you’ll head out on a half-day long guided tour of Luang Prabang; a city so historically important that it was given a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The tour starts at the former Royal Palace where you can explore the history of Laos before continuing to the temples of Wat Mai and Wat Sensoukarahm. The most revered temple in Luang Prabang is Wat Xieng Thong close to the Mekong, and it is here that the tour draws to a close before you transfer back to your hotel.

  • Superior: Villa Malay (B)
Day 5: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfalls
Early risers can experience the site of monks collecting the alms before returning to the hotel to meet with the rest of the group for breakfast. You’ll then head out through the countryside to the Kuang Si Waterfalls, stopping off en-route to visit one of the local villages to learn about the traditions and cultures of the people who live there. On arrival at the falls, you’ll be able to relax in some of the most stunning natural surroundings in the area, with the dense jungle around the water being perfect for those who want to explore – with stunning views awaiting those who decide to tackle the steep track to the top of the falls. A series of turquoise pools provide the chance to have a relaxing dip, whilst the nearby bear sanctuary – where black bears that have been saved from poachers are cared for – is a popular option for nature lovers. On your return to Luang Prabang, the remainder of the day is yours at leisure.

One you arrive at the lodge, you’ll check-in to your unique private canvas tent before taking part in one of a range of activities; which could include gold panning in the Mekong, fishing, rice planting or a visit to a local village.
