Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive at Delhi International Airport where you’ll be met by a tour representative before being transferred to your hotel, with the remainder of the day being free to explore the Indian capital at leisure.

Day 2: Delhi
Spend the day on a sightseeing tour of the city, which gets underway in the morning with a visit to Old Delhi, the walled city that sits in the middle of the sprawling metropolis that Delhi itself has now become. You’ll view the ancient Jama Masjid mosque and visit the memorial to Ghandi known as the Raj Ghat before then switching focus to New Delhi in the afternoon, including a visit to the War Memorial Arch and the Rashtrapati Bhawan; the official home of the president of India.

Day 3: Delhi – Udaipur
Head for the airport to join a flight to Udaipur, an ancient city also known as the City of the Lakes because of the numerous bodies of water that can be found. Containing a range of palaces, forts, temples and gardens, Udaipur is something of a showcase that tells the story of the kingdom of Mewar, with the opportunity to explore at leisure following your arrival.

Day 4: Udaipur
Explore the sights of Udaipur on a sightseeing tour that will take in many of the highlights, including the impressive City Palace complex, which has been built up over hundreds of years and features four major palaces and numerous exotic rooms. Having taken in the breathtaking beauty of the architecture featured in the various buildings, you’ll have chance to walk through the rose gardens and admire the ornamental fountains in the Garden of the Maids of Honours before an evening cruise on Lake Pichola to relax at the end of the day; with the chance to see the sun going down over the surrounding hills.

Day 5: Udaipur – Jodhpur
Leave Udaipur for the journey by road to the city of Jodhpur. On the way, you’ll stop in the village of Ranakpur to visit the stunning Jain Temples. No fewer than 1444 unique marble columns support the temple, which is home to numerous intricate sculptures. You’ll then continue on to Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City, on the edge of the Thar desert.

Day 6: Jodhpur
Spend the day exploring Jodhpur, with its graceful palaces, forts and temples. The day will start with a visit to the Mehrangarh Fort, which casts a protective eye over the city from its elevated position on a hillside. Inside the fort walls, you’ll see a number of courtyards and palaces before heading to see a nearby marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a village safari in open jeeps, where you’ll see local villagers at work and gain the opportunity to experience rustic Rajasthani life.

Day 7: Jodhpur – Jaipur
Leave Jodhpur behind to travel to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, so called because of the colour of many of the buildings thanks to the stone used in their construction. Having arrived in the city, you’ll check into your hotel with the rest of the day being free.

Day 8: Jaipur
Enjoy a day seeing the sights in Jaipur and the surrounding area, starting out with a visit to the Amber Fort. Here, you’ll be able to take a ride on the back of an elephant or tour the ramparts by jeep before exploring the ancient complex overlooking Moat Lake. In the afternoon, you’ll explore Jaipur itself, including time at the impressive Palace of the Winds and a visit to the stunning City Palace, a spectacular complex dating back to the 1700s located in the heart of the city.

Day 9: Jaipur – Agra
Leave Jaipur for the trip to Agra, stopping on the way to pay a visit to the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri, built in the 1570s before being abandoned shortly after completion because of a lack of water in the area. Now regarded as one of the best preserved collections of Mughal architecture in the country, the complex contains numerous inspiring monuments you’ll be able to explore before continuing to your overnight accommodation.

Day 10: Agra – Depart Delhi
Visit Agra Fort as you explore the area around the town before a visit to the monument for which India is best known; the Taj Mahal. Built under orders from Emperor Shah Jahan to honour his third wife Mumtaz Mahal, the exquisite building took more than 20 years to create and is now regarded by many as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You’ll then head to Delhi to head for the airport and your flight home.
